My gawd, this is the most pathetic looking game i have played in a LONG time. Probably since GTA:VC. Jebus, this game looks like SH!T. Not trolling, just saying. Why didnt they may it look nice on PC?

Weird...i don't have a problem with the controls. It was weird trying to control with the keyboard and mouse and I swore some buttons I set were not working at all but then I got a logitech rumblepad controller today and it works great.

Graphics are an improvement over Vice City. I kinda like it... I wasn't expecting much more improved graphics over the PS2 version. This is Rockstar Games after all and each time they promised improved PC graphics, it's just been a straight console port. The graphics don't make this game...it's the gameplay.

I don't know what the hell you're talking about. The graphics aren't amazing, but they're more than acceptable. And the controls are standard PC fare, ie WASD + mouse. It's really not that difficult. Give it more than five minutes and I'm sure you'll catch on.

Take what the OP says with a grain of salt. I'm no fan of console ports (in fact I generally hate them), but this port is one of the better ones (edit: even with the bugs).

Non of the GTA series ever looked good IMO. What did you expect. Rockstar has been using basicly the same engine just a little enhanced on the 3 PS2 GTA's. This is def a game no one plays for graphics just the fun/freedom factor.

It looks at least 3-5x better than the PS2 version due to the higher res. Did you expect the game to have alot better graphics for PC? It would have cost them more money and at least another 6 months for the PC release and by then a new one will be about ready to be released.

But of course I don't think there will be another GTA for PS2. So I don't think we will see a new GTA till next year sometime.

Or on the Xbox 360. MS is working with Rockstar now. It could happen, just not likely.

The only contols I had to change where I switched run and jump. Who thought it was a good idea to make space run and shift jump when every other game in existance uses space for jump...
Having mouse look while driving took a bit to get used to, but now I like it. There were times in 3 and vice city that I wanted to look somewhere but couldn't.

Yea, i realize its all about gameplay. Hell, i played 3 and VC with > 80% completion (IIRC). Its just standard R* technique to do a direct port, i was just hoping for more. Oh well...

Is there anyway someone could post some screens, i'm curious to exactly what it does look like. I've played it on ps2, and i cant imagine it not being alot better, due to just higher res, and being able to render further distances.

Btw dose it support 1280x1024, i recently bought lotr:rotk and its highest res is 1024x768 bothers me sooooo much.

@garkon, yes, 1280x1024 is what im playing at. I will post some screens soon. It seriously looks horrendous!

Also, do Scots not play PC games AT ALL. I just learned some new fighting moves and they all involve RMB + Return buttons. WTF?! Am i supposed to move my left hand to the opposite side of the keyboard to do this sh!t?! Man, R* spent zero time on this port. Man im really learning to hate R*. Whats that saying, "fool me twice, im the fool." How does this apply to THREE times?

I think it looks really good, compared to how gta san andreas looks on ps2. I'm a fan of a nice sharp image, even if the textures are old, u still get a better image. I got a gamepad, so i'm not worryed about the controls.

Draw distance and ammout of scenery type foliage looks much improved over the ps2 as well, i'm really glad i waited. Will pick it up tommarow for 29.99, dont think i'll be disappointed.

i actually just got the game and am playing it on my 20inch cinematic display @ 1680X1050 and it looks and runs fantastic. Are you sure you've played with the advanced setting? I pulled in the draw distance a little and notice a good performance increase. Really, it looks much better than the PS2 port (I have it). Just my opinion.......

Gawd damn horrible game design. EVERY "quest" has different keys. Man this irritates the *eff* outta me. I fail missions because i dont know the keys, and R* assumes i know what they are. Jebus, horrible game design, horrible graphics, glad i didnt pay for this POS.

I just tried the lowrideer challenge. There are no buttons that activate the DIAGONAL arrow. Man, if i met the usability guy at R* today i would push his face thorough the back of his head.

You're basically the only person here complaining. Then you brag about not paying for it. That could mean that you received it as a gift, but could also mean you downloaded it. If so, you're really lame to come here and whine.

It was a gift, my girl (im sure you dont have one) gave it to me for my BD. So, now you can *eff* off.
