You're basically the only person here complaining. Then you brag about not paying for it. That could mean that you received it as a gift, but could also mean you downloaded it. If so, you're really lame to come here and whine.

It was a gift, my girl (im sure you dont have one) gave it to me for my BD. So, now you can *eff* off.

Wow you're immature.

Nope. I was just going to ask if anyone has found a way to disable that, since it is driving me nuts.

You don't need to. If you leave the mouse alone, the camera moves behind your vehicle automatically.

You can change the controls however you like them. Just like almost every other PC game.

I just tried and no go. Print screen -> pshop does not work. This such a horrible port that i bet R* disabled print screen. Not to mention the INSANE key bindings that retards chose (see my above post). Ugh. Is "game play" really worth all this sh!t?

PrintScreen works fine for me.

Screenshots

I just tried the lowrideer challenge. There are no buttons that activate the DIAGONAL arrow. Man, if i met the usability guy at R* today i would push his face thorough the back of his head.

Every hear of pressing up key and left key at the same time, to go diagonally up and left? Works for me.

I just figured that out... makes the game much better.

If you even took the time to check the control setup instead of crying in here, you'd now that the number pad is the directional pad and that to go in a diagonal direction, like say upper right, you press up+right at the same time (6 key + 8 key).

Also, screenshots work with the printscreen key for me and a few others, not sure what youre problem is.

You don't need to. If you leave the mouse alone, the camera moves behind your vehicle automatically.

There is an option under the control setup for the mouse where it says something like "enable mouse for driving". If you enable it, but dont use it, the camera will always swing behind the car by default. If you disable it, then the car and camera will turn independant of each other (which for me was really annoying).

ALSO! PLEASE LET IT BE KNOW THAT THE "RETURN" KEY IS ALSO THE EQUIVELANT OF THE "F" KEY!

SO, YOU CAN USE THE F KEY BY DEFAULT TO GET INTO CARS AND SUCH!

Oh, I see now. Yeah, I could see how that would be annoying.

One thing I haven't been able to figure out is how to get that cinematic angle during replays.

I couldn't stand it at first either, but it has grown on me. It's really useful in chases once you get used to it.

Hmmm, not sure what the problem was last night, but i got printscreen to work today. Bamacre, did you capture those shots yourself? I have everything absolutely maxed and this is what mine look like.

Ugh...

Notice how the lights are heavily quantized. The game looks like its running in 16-bit (or lesser) or something.

On the "keypad" issue. Why the hell would R* suddenly decide to move controls from your default TO the keypad? I have perfectly good L, R, U, D control with asdf. Every GTA game that comes out is just a nightmare to accomodate because they seem to ignore ALL PC gaming convetions. Since when is space == to run, or CTRL == to shoot, or Shift == to jump, or ... need i continue. I should also add that you cant change ALL controls.

Just wait until you get to the mandatory flight training missions. Many keyboards will be broken in half.

I've rebound every single key that I needed to rebind, which ones can you not rebind? Also, double-check your video settings and make sure your resolution is set to 1280X78X32, not X16.

Oh, umm, im a retard (in case that wasnt obvious). However, what level headed developer still implements 16-bit as an option in PC games these days?! More evidence of the utter lack of effort on R* part?

Map. No option to bind anywhere else (esc -> map is the only option). I want M to be map, no option. There are a few others, but i cant remember now what they are.

Here's one thing that I definitely agree with you on. There should be an option to bind a key to overlay a transparent map of the city on the screen while you're playing. If you played Mafia, you know what I'm talking about. It worked great in that game, and it would work even better here, considering the complexity of the cities in GTA.

I've got a Logitech Rumblepad and am going to install this later sometime this week to test it out to see if the bitching is really warranted. I loved the PS2 version, let's hope you guys are just complaining too much (like always).

Rockstar definitely needs a lesson in usability.

Most of the keys can be remapped to my liking without problems, but how did they miss something like a 'M' key for map?

I think the answer is obvious -to support more users AND to allow flexibility for performance adjustments. Rockstar should be applauded for that, not scolded. It's not their fault that you overlooked that option. Sounds like you need more time and to slow down a bit, because most of your points brought up ahve been moot. The only one I agree with you on so far is the fact that the Map usability is clunky. One thing you have not broought up is the fact that not every single cut scene (including death) cannot be skipped. Most can, but it's a real pet-peeve of mine.

Also, can anyone explain to me how to use the "qucik trip" function? I was trying to compelte a mission multiple times, and all of a sudden that little car icon pops up but I had no idea how to take advantage of it.
