GTA: San Andreas

Argh. Game wont load, I get an error that says the original disk could not be found or authenticated. It installed ok, this is when trying to play it. Call support up (god knows why I felt possesed to do this) and was told to disable all my startup items in msconfig, and if that doesn't work, reinstall the game. Yea right, I want my ATI control panel, AV program and ms antispyware to load, thank you very much.

Anyone have any sensible ideas? I already looked for a no dvd hack, but I figure its too soon for those to be out...

You may also want to see if there is newer firmware on the DVD drive you're using.

Is anyone else getting periodic crashes? The game keeps going down, although I can sometimes get back in when VPU recover works. I don't know what's going on.

I've not got it yet - I don't suppose anyone here has a Matrox Parhelia card to tell me it works fine do they?

be careful though. the original hoodlum nodvd crack made it crash on lvl3 so i've heard. i'd recommend getting the hoodlum multilanguage crack, its what i'm using right now.

anywho, played the game for a while and its pretty fun (haven't played it on ps2). but so far its not as fun vice city though. my friend told me it gets better. i hope so, i want an empire.

It does get better, I've been playing for a bit, going through quite a few missions. The city is HUGE, and not all of it is even reachable yet. I love the including of the interstate system, helps get around faster, and it's fun watching the peds crash as they are driving fast on it as well. I actually kind of like the right-mouse aiming system, gives it a little more FPS feel, and does help with aiming. The higher detailed textures and further draw distance add to the city as well, looks great.

I'm excited for this game... I rarely get far in missions with the previous GTA's but its a nice stress reliever to come home after work and get on the PC and cause mayhem on the streets. Something I wouldn't dare or fathom to do in real life but a nice way to kick back and relax in a weird way.

does anyone know how to add the custom user radio station? i remember i did this in vice city by just dragging and dropping my mp3's into one folder. i can't remember anymore.

You can add a shortcut to files or folders to this directory, no need to put the actual files here.

I'm not sure a Parhelia would run the original (non-3D) GTA!

Just out of interest sake, i have also been using the XBOX controller on my pc, but i am finding it difficult to configure it in a usable manner, does anyone happen to know where i could get the default xbox control listings like from the game manual or something.. i did try the Replacement Docs Website but they only have the PS2 manual (which might help you duragezic).

And as far as how its running on my computer it runs great! i am using it at

So my comptuer is nothing special and i happy with the performance/playability. In fact i think it might actually runs better then GTA:VC did on my computer, but who knows... The only issue is the crash to desktop every 20 mins, but VPU recover has worked every time so no complaints... Its a great game go buy it today!

I get the same thing. Annoying, but the VPU recover works like a charm.

Its not bad but, anyways...
I used HOODLUM crack but now when i go to boot it freezes at the screen after the credits when you first boot it up, like where it says GTA San Andreas and its got a bunch of pictures
It's been doing that ever since I unmounted and deleted my iso... this is bull, anyone know what i can do?

nixation, try the multilanguage crack that hoodlum released maybe.

would it be possible to someone stream a shoutcast server from within gta? damn i so want to listen to the music that energyx plays from within game. however, i highly doubt this is possible.

clarification- by got it, i mean i went to a retail establishment and bought it.

Ive gone through so many cracks, same thing every time.
At the title screen, it darkens then it just... STOP
And you can see the title still but barely.
gta_sa.exe has encountered errors blah blah bs.
