Well, for current AAA games, I would agree with you. However, a PC does offer a lot of other types of games that are not on console, as well as the functionality of Windows.

I also just dont feel comfortable with a controller, even if the game does play well with one. DA:I for example, I tried a controller, but eventually went back to kb/mouse.

I still can't use a controller with more than two buttons. Product of my upbringing I guess, I went from an Atari to a NES to PC's.

Been recently running this game on a i3 3220 and 1gb gtx650 at 1366x768 all low, oddly enough it feels dramatically worst then it used to in April when i last ran it.900p and 1080p introduce stutter city so 768p it is.

Been running the same 350.12 drivers .Benchmarks from then and now show dramatic differences in min and oddly enough max but it feels much worst then before.

I thought about installing the latest"Kepler fixer upper" drivers but heard horror stories, then of course i have heard many complaints about relentless stutter with the most recent of patches. What do you guys think?Been some time since i played so honestly i really don't know what to make of this.

Write off the Pentiums. Minimums in the single digits, ouch!

Game should be benchmarked again, ran some tests recently on a older rig of mine and even a stock E5200 was delivering 13-30 fps.It was stutter city but then dropping in a Q6600 suddenly i'm sitting about 25-41fps but more or less hanging in the 33-35fps range.

Slamming into other cars i would hit my minimum frame rate and driving outside the city on the highway i would hit my max.Running low my frames maxed out at about 70 and my avg and min went up about 5fps or so.

GTA V is heavy on data streaming from the harddrive (like textures music and so on)
On low usually it does not stutter but stops to stream the data you will see artifacts like missing walls, signs, roads and so on.
You can use a frame limiter to throttle the FPS until you reach the spot where everything loads up ok.
Look at the 4 min mark.
