shut your whore mouth, Brucie was awesome

This. With lines like:
"Now that would be as tight as..... I was going to say tight as my abs but we both know that nothing is as tight as these"

Seriously, how can you NOT love Brucie? I mean, totally no homo of course...

"I gotta go - I'm going to have a three way with some twins. Chicks, I mean. Not dudes. Not my vibe. I pound women, and punch men. Not the other way around."

I hear that. I put 30 hours into 4 and was too uninspired to finish it. The complete lack of variety in the game space and character customization (when coming from SA) was just pitiful. And the fact it had some of the most obnoxious and unlikeable characters I've come across (I'm looking at you Roman and Brucie) didn't help either.

Not to mention the God awful social elements.

Really, all that was needed to get me to start and abandon that game like five times was the cel phone and all those annoying friends.

"Heeyyyy, it's Roman!"

"F*** off."

less missions that GTA4 but so much more to do. it looks like they are going all out, probably trying to cover all bases before they announce that mods will not be supported on PC, a good thing in my opinion, keeps the game legit especially for online play.

Really? When I think of the potential for mods in an open world game, Skyrim comes to mind and just how much more awesome the community made the game.

Quality over quantity. I'd rather play a fun 25 hour game than a mediocre 35 hour one.

I'd take quantity anyday in a GTA game. They spent all that time creating it and stuck in a tiny single player campaign? Spent too much money on multiplayer?

GTA IV actually had a story with a definite beginning, a definite middle, and a definite end. It went somewhere. This looks like 3 random characters that barely have time to develop and are basically GTA caricatures.

just doing the main story missions, at a normal pace is about 30 hours. the side missions and activities push it to 50+ hours. if you are an imaginative person than the random exploration and role playing can net hundreds of hours.

and then theres the online which has tons of different things to do.

Ordered a PS4 yesterday for I don't know what reason, mostly to play some of the exclusives I guess. Now I'm going to have to double down on the resolve not to get the PS4 release and wait for PC.

I hope it's at least somewhat optimized

Still waiting for this freaking game, god i hope pc isn't locked to 30fps. They brag about pc going to 4k like they are the first ever to do it but there's no mention of 60fps or higher and that scares me.

If this is a decent PC port, I might pick it up again. The previous gen version was super dated and the game wasn't entirely grand, but the new stuff might be worth checking out. Granted, there are some major caveats to that: unlocked FPS, decent optimization, no major bugs at launch, etc.

Otherwise, I might eventually pick it up on a Steam sale in 6 months.

  • Lots of control options, like the ability to switch to third person while in cover.
  • Console versions 1080p 30 fps... PC goes up to 4k.
  • Over 20 new species of wildlife including cats and whales
  • 150 new songs
  • New pedestrian chatter, smog effects, lightning effects, and fireflys.
  • New Rail Gun

Optimization though. Was this developed for primitive gen and then reported to next gen and PC? If this was built for and optimized for stone age consoles then Rockstar shoved some "next-gen" stuff up in it . . . . . . . uh-oh.

If the lead was PC, then it should be fine . . . . . but memories of GTA IV!

That first person mode is kinda cool, wonder if there is any chance of getting coming to 360/ps3. I see mod videos on youtube for first person.
