Good luck with those sort of frame ratesI'm playing the PS3 version. I'll also pick up the PC version when it comes out. I did the same with GTA4. I can't wait to see it on PC. It looks great on PS3, but it is screaming for 1080p+ with AA, AF, and high resolution textures at 60fps.
Technically, if they sell it through Steam, the will lose 30% ($18) of $60 rather than the $10 I believe is the licensing fee for MS and Sony.
Not that I think that is a motivation for this. I believe they were developing for current gen consoles long before the next gen dev boxes were finalized. A PC port will likely happen, but only after the finish the console, as is Rockstar's way (at least new Rockstar; I think GTA1 and 2 came out at the same time on PC).

Rockstar are kind of dicks to PC gamers. They put LA Noir up on Steam, which was just an okay game at best. However, they refused to give Red Dead Redemption the PC release it deserved. That game was begging for 1080p and some proper AA. So many jaggies on the PS3 version.
Rockstar's PC porting though hasn't always been up to snuff. IIRC, GTA IV was pretty buggy for the longest time after it came out.
There's a rumour that GTA V will come out for next gen consoles. PS4 anyway. Though it's not mentioned anywhere in the launch window lineup, which are pretty much finalized at this point. If I do get it, it will probably be for PS4.
They usually take around 6 months to release the PC ports, so March/April is around right.My tip is March/April next year, and I base this on absolutely nothing.

I don't think so. A good game is a good game, even if you have to wait a little while to play it.
6 months (or however long Rockstar will take to release the PC version) isn't a terribly long time to wait for the definitive version of an already critically-acclaimed game.
For me I am playing it on ps3 but I am going to get it on PC when it goes on a steam sale. I won't double dip at $60.
How is the framerate on the PS3 in GTA5? I wasn't quite happy with it in GTA4. I'm considering getting the PS3 version myself. Don't know if I'll be able to wait for the PC version.
I get the feeling it will be 20-30 FPS. It's rather stressful on the two console's hardware.
It tries to hold 30fps and does a good job most of the time. Only a few spots have a little drop during the action.
All Rockstar needs to do is just announce that it will come to pc and everything will be right in the world
Hate to break it to everyone, but GTA 5 is as overrated as GTA 4. It's not worth getting your backs broken to bring it to PC.
