i dunno, a lot of people just rehash info from other sites, which i think is okey. But i actually took the time out to find that info. At least say you ripped from FW thread. At Fry's (Bay Area), even though its listed under Tony Hawk 4 it says "Guaranteed Low Price" on GTA Vice City. Its common to see new games and DVDs advertised as this so the retailer does not have to commit to a lower price than another, so I wouldnt get your hopes up that it will be $34.99, besides that, Fry's wants an advertisement to pricematch. It arrives by Noon tommorow, so we will have to wait until then to see the price.

Anyone know if any of the versions of Tony Hawk 4 will have internet play? I heard the XBOX version will let you direct connect and play with serveral friends, other than that details are hard to come by.

The Newegg thing is wrong.

There are no PC announcements as of yet, and Rockstar reps have avoided speaking of a possible release date for a PC version. Anyone hoping to get it in November will be out of luck.

The $5 off coupon can only be used in store, not online. For those of you who want to get your copy but can't make Wednesday morning, I recommend taking advantage of the pre-order/free shipping at Best Buy. Not the quickest means, but at least you'll have your copy without having to deal with the crowds.

lol, guess again! It will be PS2 ONLY for 2 years. This is old news, forget about playing it on your PC. PS2 only, which is fine with me since I own a PS2 also...

lol, guess again! We'll all likely be playing VC on our PCs by the end of the year. The key words here are "only on the PS2 _CONSOLE_." Last time I checked my PC was not a console. This is the same reason that GTA3 came out on PS2 AND PCs alike, but no other consoles.

Well, it finally came out on the PC after over a year (or something like that, I know that I had it on my PS2 and played it for months and months before it was even ANNOUNCED for the PC). Anyway, there was an XBOX version in the works but it was scrapped.

Vice City is a different situation though, rockstar and Sony shook hands for an exclusive deal for 2 years, so all of 2003 and 2004 will be PS2 only. You can hope for a PC version but you'll be waiting a long time... Hell, even if it came out by Christmas (keep dreaming) who can wait 2 more months, it's in stores today for the PS2!!! By the time it hits PCs I will have played it to death on my PS2...

does noone remember that grand theft auto was out for PSx a loooooong time ago?? that game ruled, but it's funny it seems like everyone thinks this is the first incarnation of the game on a console. oh well,

Make sure you ask if they have it. At my store, they didn't put it on the shelves, but they had about 50 copies in a cabinet behind the service desk. $40 all day, w00t!

I have a PC with pretty good gaming capability. I don't want to buy a Playstation 2, an XBox, etc. etc.

If they want to turn up their noses at the PC market, let them.

I just picked up Vice City from the Fry's in Sunnyvale, CA. It is $39.99 and they have 100s if not 1000s of them... So anyway, no rush, get there whenever you want and enjoy. This is SMOKING hot considering people pre-ordered months ago, paid $50 and got it today as well...

Well, I did the preorder at Best Buy on Sunday morning. Got a backordered email this morning, bought the game at my local store and canceled my online order. I checked my email and I received a $5 digital coupon for preordering Vice City. My net cost has just dropped to $29.99 plus tax. Now if my PS2 would get here (from a fellow ATer)

The bottom line is that RockStar has made NO announcements regarding the status of a PC version. So anything you think you know about it is wrong. Can you point me in the direction of the Game Cube version? As far as I know there is only PS2 and PC version of GTA3 available.

from the screen shots, i suggest you get it for xbox if you want the best grafix. i have the gamecube version and i have played the ps2 version... i find the gamecube controls to be MUCH smoother and the grafix are better than ps2. so either get xbox or gamecube.

Dont buy from Electronics Boutique. The one in my neighborhood had tons of them not reserved but if you didnt pre-order you have to make an additional purchase of 1 pre-owned game just to be able to buy GTA:VC!
