My biggest advice for anyone getting in on this deal would be to submit the rebate now. It requires an internet submission so if they remove the rebate for any reason then you're out of luck.

it's sorta there... the question is if i go to buy.com and then actually buy from their 'marketplace' (antonline), does that count as buy.com...

the invoice on the buy.com site has "marketplace, fulfilled by antonline.com" on it...

I just spoke with a CSR from "World Wide Rebates" / the Rebate Center, about the "Channel Wide" partners of Galaxy" and Julie told me that as long as the on-line rebate form showed "Channel wide" the offer was valid no matter where it was purchased.

the list at Galaxy is merely a "where available" or "where-to-buy" list; and has nothing to do with the rebate. "Channel wide" means everywhere.

forgive me for being naive on this card..but is it better than a 8800 GTS card? thanks for the input.

The GT250 is a rebadged 9800GTX+, which in turn is a rebadged and higher clocked 8800GTS. So yes, it will be a bit better than a 8800GTS because it's highly similar hardware but at a higher clock. It should also use a little bit less power.

Amazing deal, but worried about the huge rebate. $81 SLI 250s would tide me over until the 5780s are available and cheaper.

Risk v. Benefit analysis made me buy just one. Decent card if there's a failure with the rebate, and an amazing card if it goes through. Sure there's a higher reward with two of these for $80, but the overall utility diminishes after one for me.

And I did the rapid rebate for $7.

BTW, anybody get any indication that antonline.com shipped their cards? I bet there's gonna be a backlog.

EDIT: I wanted to get the form filled out at least, but I can't find the invoice number. Is the invoice and order # the same for buy.com? Or do I have to wait until the thing comes in the mail to fill out the form. I know newegg gives you the invoice and order numbers right away and they are different. Sorry just trying to be as accurate as possible.
