If you waited this long, might as well get an AIB custom card for less $.
Thread should be rather called GTX 1080 inavailability. Cause the only ones available here are the FE editions from various vendors and even those in quantity like 1 MSI, 1 ASUS, 3 Zotac etc... at the largest e-shop, i assume the smaller ones dont have any stock at all.
This launch is truly disappointing. I personally want watercooled 1080. To be decided between 3 potential choices (MSI, Evga, Gigabyte). Only the Seahawk is listed at stores at this point, at exorbitant price of 925 EUROs with VAT - even if it was available, no buy at that price. Hybrid is apparently coming early July, no idea about Gigabyte. Probably even later, since it was revealed only few days ago. Not to mention i dont even want to know their price, if the reference board Seahawk is over 900 EUROs already....
If they become available sometimes come August, then i buy one or two and 3 months later Nvidia launches some version of GP102 to fight off Vega, cause the rumors of its October release turn out to be true, i will probably kill someone.
After reading that it seems silly you'd even be considering purchasing a 1080 in the first place let alone two of them.
What gpu do you currently have?
Both the 1070 and 1080 FE's are still available on the NVidia website as of this posting.

Why silly?
I currently have GTX580 - placeholder for my broken 590 since last summer.
I am going to buy not for gaming, but work - archviz rendering. I want as much performance as possible, so FE throttling to 1600 Mhz is no interest to me. If i decide to buy 2, then my only choice is watercooled card, well one at least, cause due to my mobo layout the cards are going to be next to each other. I dont really need to listen to fans screaming loud as hell, cause they have no space from where to suck the air/where to blow it.
I give it would be silly to buy if GP102 arrival looked to be imminent. With the way Nvidia presented and priced 1080, i did not think its going to happen soon - this year. But reading the Vega related rumors, you never know, their hand may be forced.
I gotta say, Doom runs at 60 FPS without any frame drops so far... This is max ultimate detail @ 3440x1440p on an i7-6700k factory clock.
Let's give up a large portion of the market, even the lucrative mobile segment, we can't make enough big chips anyway. And if we can't make P100 as fast as we can sell it, abandon the gaming market altogether.there's little sense in them making 1060's when they can keep selling 1070/1080 at FE prices
