Nvidias 480 sells for 400$-500$ on newegg.
*IF* this card has same performance, but less noise/heat ect.... I dont see this selling for less than the 480 does currently.
So I suspect this 570 when it comes out, it ll have a price tag of 400$.
A few weeks back you could get a gtx480 for 360$AR, I would exspect the gtx570 to be less than that.
Evga gtx480 for 400$ AR now the prices went up.

The 570 has the vaper chamber cooler also.
the 580 doesnt oc worth a crapThen it'll be cool and quiet, which sets it up to o/c well. Having the 69xx for it to compete with is great too - should keep prices down.
The 470 does, and this card replaces the 470...so it should overclock decent I imagine, though they have increased the clocks some so it may not overclock as much from 'stock'. But, from the vantage point that they increased the standard clocks some makes it a bit of a moot point if it doesn't overclock as well as the 470 tit for tat, though if the card is consistent with the previous offering it should probably be able to get close to the 580 with the proper tuning perhaps, and the new cooling solution should help quite a bit in that regard.the 580 doesnt oc worth a crap
how does that make any sense at all? the gtx570 is based of the same gpu as the gtx580 so how the gtx470 overclocks doesn't mean a thing here. plus the gtx470 only overclocks well because it was already at a 100mhz deficit compared to the the gtx480 so it had much more headroom. the gtx570 looks to be clocked much closer to the gtx580 this time so again there will not be very much overclocking headroom compared to the gtx470. in other words the faster clocks of the gtx580 and gtx570 have wiped out all that extra overclocking headroom that the gtx480/470 had because their max oc is no better than gtx480/470.The 470 does, and this card replaces the 470...so it should overclock decent I imagine, though they have increased the clocks some so it may not overclock as much from 'stock'. I thought most reviews had it about 850 and that more voltage sometimes didn't help much because temps got a bit too high(mid to upper 90s). and yes the 6870 does oc like crap because it doesn't have all that extra headroom that the 6850 has.900 to 950 core with voltage is crap? 850 without voltage. Stock clocks are 770 correct?
In that case the 6850/70 overclock like crap also. Not every card is gonna be a gtx 460's 675 stock core to 900 core overclocks.
in other words the faster clocks of the gtx580 and gtx570 have wiped out all that extra overclocking headroom that the gtx480/470 had because their max oc is no better than gtx480/470.
Exactly.
Wrong,
A chip that has disabled units will generally overclock better and run cooler.

...GTX465 or 5830
Here's my final overclock for my 580s that I'm staying at, rock solid...(and that includes Just Cause 2 )
865Mhz at 1.037 volts (stock was 797mhz at 1.072v) / Memory at 1085mhz (or 4340)
Lots of room to overclock...
You actually dropped the voltage AND overclocked?
If it overclocks enough to bring it to a margin within the 580, that is all it needs imho cause that will give 580 performance at a $379 price point (or whatever the retail of the 570 is).how does that make any sense at all? the gtx570 is based of the same gpu as the gtx580 so how the gtx470 overclocks doesn't mean a thing here. plus the gtx470 only overclocks well because it was already at a 100mhz deficit compared to the the gtx480 so it had much more headroom. the gtx570 looks to be clocked much closer to the gtx580 this time so again there will not be very much overclocking headroom compared to the gtx470. in other words the faster clocks of the gtx580 and gtx570 have wiped out all that extra overclocking headroom that the gtx480/470 had because their max oc is no better than gtx480/470.

Last I check a overclocked gtx 580 is the fastest card on the planet allready?
how is that neutered? a gtx570 is just a relatively small update to the gtx470 and will improve upon it in every way.I'm a bit skeptical of the card. 320bit memory bus? Why neuter the card so hard? I was thinking I would be getting two of these for surround gaming because ironically Nvidia dominates the performance there even though AMD introduced it, but part of the reason I think their cards performed so well was the over abundance of memory bandwidth and VRAM available. Thoughts?
