Bad VRM's would result in a recall, not a markdown. A markdown will just give you less revenue to fund the eventual torrent of defective products and potential class action lawsuit.

I doubt there is anything to this bad VRM rumor.

I wouldn't call that cheap. Its the 6950's 2gb that are getting cheap. Powercolor on newegg for $259.99 with $30 rebate = $229.99. They're cheaper then the 1gb models right now.

I agree. Nvidia has no compelling upgrade for me over GTX 460 1gb. ATi is close, but I doubt either will cut it before 28nm is out.

6970s are coming down in price as well. The only card that really looks overpriced is the 560. Right now, a few 6950s cost less and 6870s cost A LOT less.

Considering they are all reference cards at the moment that's a silly and ridiculous statement. You're basically saying you wouldn't take any 6950 for free. Or is a warranty worth the whole price of the card to you?

I got mine at Fry's for $332 plus tax. OCing it is a dream. SO clean.

I went from P6600 in 3DMark Vantage on a 9800GT to 26600 on the GTX 570, and a P5500 in 3DMark11. OCd the card to 2000 MHz RAM and 1665 CPU and 'achieved' P27712 in Vantage.

DAMN that card is big. I barely squeezed it in there after relocating a couple of disks. The 9800GT will likely become a PhysX card.

Do you need an SLI connector to run a PhysX card?
