Yesterday I bought a GTX 650ti to dedicate to Physx. I'm disappointed in the results. I ran the benchmark in Batman Arkham City, DX9 and DX11 modes and with my GTX 680 alone, I got a 38 fps min, 75 fps avg, 120 fps max. Adding the GTX 650ti for dedicated Physx, I got 32 fps min, 74 fps avg, 127 fps max. This in DX9 mode. I don't care so much about the max fps, and care most about the min fps, and the min fps in the benchmark is at the end of the flying shards of glass part. In DX11 mode, have the GTX 650ti as dedicated Physx helped a little but still terrible min fps in DX11 mode in the benchmark. GTX 680 alone, got 7 fps min, 65 fps avg. GTX 650ti dedicated to Physx, 9 fps min, 69 fps avg. I didn't pay attention to the max fps in DX11 mode.
I also didn't notice a difference in Borderlands 2 when I added the GTX 650ti for Physx. I got the same visible fps drops when the shapes fly in the air when shooting the enemies. Don't know if it would have got rid of the microsecond pauses I've experienced in Borderlands 2 as I didn't keep the GTX 650ti installed long enough in my PC to try to find out. I have plans to return the card to the store for a refund later today since I really couldn't perceive any benefit from use it as a dedicated Physx card and in one situation it even gave me a lower minimum frame rate.
