I'm getting the same setup as you. Does your PS have 2 6-pin GPU connectors? You'll need those. 1 of our GTX 660 is 70% faster than 1 of my GTX 460 1GB. You should be good until the Maxwell GTX 8xx series comes out.

I've had 2 660s for a couple months now. My conclusion? SLI is balls. BF3 and GRID 2 perform poorly with terrible scaling that's all over the place. Sometimes its 90%, sometimes its -20%.

I would still opt single card over multi-card. Too bad the 760ti isn't out yet probably would be a great fit.

Your power is fine. I'm running two OCed 7950s and an OCed 3570K off of a 600W power supply.

For the price you'd pay for those 660s, I'd recommend getting a 7970 or 770. mGPU is more of a headache than it's worth, IMO.

Really....? What kind of PSU do you have?

Surprisingly enough, an OCZ Modxstream 600W PSU. I'm pulling power for my second card through molex adapters but it works.

i5-3570K at 1.3V for 4.6 GHz
WF3 7950 at 1.25V (stock) for 1000/1250
Sapphire 7950 at stock for 1000/1250

It's been mining and gaming for 24 hours and no power issues yet. I'm pretty sure it's at the limit but I'm not going to keep it running at this for very long so I'm not too worried about long-term durability. Originally I thought I would have to downclock everything to stock (and the WF3 to stock 7950 levels) but it's been going fine.

Wow.. Pretty crazy. Sometimes I feel like my power supply is not enough for just one 7950 @ 1250/1650. Playing Crysis 3 the PSU becomes the loudest fan in the system. Silencer my A$$ - I really need to get a Kila-watt or a quieter PSU

Well, you are at 1250, and what voltage is that? The power consumption does not increase linearly with clock and voltage...

Guru3D did a power consumption test, they calculated roughly 135W per card. So with two cards at 260W (add another 50-100W for overclock and fudge factor) and a CPU that draws 100W at max, it should still be within my 500W 12V rail.

1.185v on the core. 135W on each card sounds awful low for a 7950 @ stock. But hey if it works it works. I'm impressed.

It will be fine. I had a Gtx 680 lightning at 1333mhz on the core and 7200mhz on the memory with extreme overvolts on both and the tower barely drew 400w with an ivy i7 at 4.4ghz. This was with a 6 pin to 8 pin adapter for the video card.

You used adapter from gtx 680 package?

I have 2 660s in sli in a FX 8320 rig OC'd to 4.3 Ghz. LOVE it. However, I already owned a 660 and later added the second for @$200. Also the GTX 770 was not out at that time. Now? Buy a single GTX770 which should be @ the same as 2 660s in sli both in price and performance.

While SLI isn't bad, I also recommend getting a single 770 instead. There is more frame variance in SLI and it's not supported in all games.
