I'm gonna wait to see what AMD does in response. If they cut off 100 bucks to some of their cards, I'll probably get a 7870 or possibly a 7950.

I'm gonna wait it out a few more months and see how prices on the 570 will be and just SLI those for now. Hopefully it'll hold me off for another generation or two.

Yeah, I'm sold as well. Before the end of summer. Though at that point I guess AMD will be just about ready to release their next big thing? I always seem to buy cards on the cusp of a new generation's release. :|

I like reading about high end cards like the GTX 680, but I'd never spend so much on a video card. Lately I've been spending around $200 and upgrading every two years.

I am in the mood for an upgrade, but I'm getting rather apathetic with GPU's lately. I remember when the 8800GTX came out and was twice as fast as the 7900GTX in many situations; I wouldn't mind seeing that kind of leap again (not that I expect it). These 15 and 20% improvements aren't doing it for me.

One other thing that I like about it... two DVI ports. I have two Dell U2709W that has HDMI, DP and DVI (2x), but I just do not like HDMI or DP for a single reason... the computer thinks the monitor is gone when it's turned off. It's a really big nitpick, but I don't like how Windows will shuffle things around just because I turn a monitor off.

When I first got my 6950, I tried having one monitor connected via DisplayPort (smaller cables are nice), but I ended up switching back to 2x DVI pretty quickly.

I want to I really want to but they will have to come in stock first.

Can it do 2 screens off DVI?

I'm happy with my Sapphire 7950. Far more than powerful enough for my resolution anyway, I'm more interested in a CPU upgrade.

I bought an EVGA today, I couldn't stand my 5870 driving my 120hz monitor anymore and the GTX 680 does really well at 1080P and it's cheaper than the AMD equivalent card. Any bitcoiners want a 5870?

Nice value for just gaming, but since I am also using my 7970 to bitcoin mine I don't think I would buy a 680 even if I didn't have the 7970 already. If I wasn't bitcoin mining, and I didn't have a 7970 already, I'd probably consider the 680... but wait a few weeks and see how AMD responds.

No reason to grab it over a 580, when the 580 is already rendering everything at playable framerates for me.

But a second 580, maybe...

Nope.
I had a choice between waiting an unknown amount of time for an NV card with unknown performance at an unknown price, or I could buy a 27" monitor with £100 off, and an HD7950.

I bought the HD7950 on the basis that even if the GTX680 was better/cheaper/etc, the amount I saved by buying the monitor when I did would be highly likely offset the cost difference, and meant I could get things an undetermined amount of time sooner.

End result, I've been using my 27" monitor and HD7950 for about 6~7 weeks, and I'm no worse off than if I had waited, since I could have got more performance with a GTX680, but I would have had to also pay a bunch more money.
I am also better off unless AMD drop the price of the HD7950 a decent chunk (like £100/$150).

Same here, almost. My 580 can't quite run BF3 at max settings at a high enough frame rate for me. A 680 might be just the kick it needs to do so. However my 580 has the nice artic cooler on it so an OEM 680 would probably be louder. Also toying with going all out and getting 2 680's

I really happy with my EVGA GTX 580 FTW HC2, I'm waiting to get another one for SLi. But those things still arn't cheap. Is so convient to buy video card with waterblock installed. I wonder how much the GTX 680 FTW HC is? Hmmmm, sell my GTX 580? or get a used one?

No. I bitcoin mine when not gaming. Why would I want to lose green by going green?

Yes -- pulled the trigger this morning at the egg.

Upgrading from a launch 480, so my decision was much easier than those of you with the 580's.

I would want to see the rest of the lineup fleshed out (670? 660? 660 Ti? IDK what they'd be called) before making any decision.

Definitely a GTX 600 for me, but the GTX 680 is way more than I need or my CPU can feed. Looking for something along the lines of HD 7870 performance in the new Nvidia line. That would be about right.

No, but I would if I were in the market for a $500 video card. I am excited for GK106 to launch as that should provide excellent performance for the price range I'm looking at. Any idea when they'll be launching those cards?

I'll sit this one out.
-I can still pull 3DMark11 x43xx with a AB game stable oc profile loaded [temp@35c], and with a 3 yr. old cpu.\system.

I really want to but I wont. The GTX 580 matrix i'm using is fine and I haven't even overclocked it yet.

I just bought an Asus gtx680.

Finally replacing my gtx260. I didn't think the gtx460 was a big enough upgrade to spend money on. I read that the gtx480 was loud and hot. I did buy a gtx580 a year ago, but sent it back the next day. Way too noisy when idle. A week later I learned that you can control the fanspeed with software tools. I should have kept the gtx580. Because that stupidity made me grumpy, I didn't buy a gtx560 either. I decided to wait for the next generation of videocards. That kept me waiting for 6 months now.

Today was the day !
I hadn't expected we would have gtx680s in the Netherlands soon.
But one shop did have them in stock.
They had 4 different brands even. I decided to go with Asus.
My gtx680 should be arriving Saturday morning.

Now I need Ivy Bridge to come. So I can finally replace my E8500.
