Difference bro. Anyway it's been confirmed in a thread here that unlocked voltage and big boost clocks equal gains that are not in line with the clock speed difference. The memory has to be clocked really far too.

Confirmed for 760$ you can get voltage control. F that. So for 760x2 = 1520$ you can get classified in sli. Or for 800$ you can get 670 SLI, or for 999$ you can get a 690. 500$ price premium? How can anyone who isn't retardedly stupid going to justify that?

Also, the 680 lightning will have voltage control. Don't ask me how I know, but I know. It is being released VERY soon too.

Normally i'm the last to complain of price but I think EVGA is pushing it this time. I don't see any type of special hardware on the classified to justify the price- the lightining comes with triple BIOS, 14 phase PWM, Twin Frozr 4, GPU reactor all for a way better price.

There is an Asus GTX 680 with voltage mod and you can see it gets high boost clocks but the memory lags behind and causes a bottleneck. It has been mentioned that you need 1:1 memory/core overclocks to keep the scaling.

I wouldn't say that...they replaced everyone's SC 670s with FTW editions. Every other vender out there would have just replaced the card until they got a good one. They have great customer service which is important to me sometimes.

You can test this yourself. Clock the memory to stock and overclock your boost to it's max stable. Test the FPS or benchmark score vs stock everything. Then clock your memory up along with your boost clock and see the difference that makes.

Memory bandwidth makes more difference than core/boost clock speed. They go hand in hand, but memory helps quite a bit more.

The main issue with there motherboards is that there bios programmers are clueless. Anyone wonder why Asus has the most amazing Bios? Easy. Shamino and others who left EVGA for Asus do all the programming.

Case in point. The EVGA Z77 FTW has had 4 bios revisions. The Maximus V gene has had 19

I do agree with Don to some respects. Their customer support isn't very friendly. When I opened my brand new Vanilla 670 I saw little pieces of PCB floating around in an undamaged box.

They also had quality control issues with the Vanilla 670 as well, not as high of a magnitude due to it running at stock speeds but the EVGA forum complaints and user reviews speak for themselves. MSI's OC edition didn't have the issues EVGA has, just the grinding fan issues.

They basically avoided getting sued thats why they were replacing them with FTW. They have depleted all stock of the SC model and they had only one choice but to give FTW cards. If they were to replace with the same model others would have been upset. Oh well, EVGA has my money anyways and my FTW works fantastic. I have been an EVGA customer for a long time and I know for a fact the customer service has gone downhill. It won't stop me from buying their products because I do like their product line.

EVGA customer service has definitely gone downhill. But I still bought 2 680's when it was released. I still have not recieve email from management nor do i expect to. It is what it is. Custom PC is an expensive hobby, just like any other hobbys.

hi,how would ev bot actually works to increase voltages?..i thought can just adjust the voltage via precision software?...if i were to buy 2 of this classified to run sli,do i need to spend extra $200 buy 2 ev bot?..sorry im a new in this ev bot thing..even currently im using 2 580 classified and i can just simply tune my voltages to my needs using precision...

On all non MSI cards afterburner only changes vDroop, not voltage. You are locked at 1175 ma - this applies to all GTX 680/670 cards, they are voltage locked. MSI has a new release of afterburner soon that will allow software voltage on lightning and power edition 680/670 only, not on any other cards - on the classified EVGA you can only over volt past 1175 with EV bot. You only need 1 card per however many classifieds you have. You set it once and you're done.

Word from MSI is that afterburner 2.2.3 is due out THIS WEEK! But software voltage will only work on lightning cards! (can't wait till I get mine!)
