Don, Chimax83: what kind of parts are you using in your custom loops? I'm contemplating which parts to get. I was initially looking at the XSPC rasa 750, but i'm told that custom loops are way way better...

Also what are your load temps?

I went custom for my loop, just because I've heard too many negative experiences concerning Rasa kit pumps. Of course there are a lot of others who've had zero problems, so /shrug. Lol

CPU block is XSPC Raystorm
GPU block is Swiftech MCW82 universal, core only
Two radiators, both XSPC, RX360 and RX240
Pump I got from a a guy on overclock.net, selling $35 DDC1's. Basic pump, working great.
Combo pump top/reservoir, XSPC too. Increases pump pressure and flow rate
Primochill tubing, 12 feet of 7/16"
1/2" barbs
Yate Loon mediums
Scythe Kaze Master Pro fan controller

That's pretty much the whole thing. GPU load temps hover in upper 30's to low 40's Celcius. Overclocking and overvolting don't affect that temp either. CPU is a different story, it depends on what I'm doing, overclock and voltage, etc. Mild overclock to 4GHz loads in low to mid 50C's. 4.5GHz mid to upper 50C's. 5.3GHz loads around 75 to 80C under Linx/IBT, but I only use this speed for benching so actual loads are mid 60C's.

Thanks chimax!

Couple questions, what I was looking at was water cooling a 3770k + sli'ed 680s, what i'm looking at so far is a dazmode kit with a RX360 + RX240 in a corsair 800D case, XSPC raystorm for CPU, i'm really unsure on pump / res. Is there anything in particular I should look for in a pump? The two models I hear about the most are the MCP35A and MCP655. I really have no idea whats the differences between various models are. Also, whats the best tube size to use for such a setup? Do you suggest 7/16 with 1/2' barbs as well?

I hope these questions aren't too newb-ish, thanks!

As far as those two pumps, they're both Laing pumps. Laing is the OEM, and "MCP" is just Swiftech's branding for them. I have a Laing DDC1, which is equivalent to an MCP 350. I don't have a lot time with water cooling, but other people swear by the 655 being extremely reliable, and quieter than the 350's. I can hear my 350 over my case fans lol, its not loud by any means but it's distinctive and you'll know it's on. 655 also has something like double the flow rate of the 355, but that really only matters for large loops with big radiators and a lot of blocks.

Both pumps are enough for what you want to do. The main thing to look for when choosing a pump is how restrictive the blocks will be. Raystorm is very low restriction. If you're using restrictive blocks (harder for water to pass through them), you'll need a more powerful pump depending on how many blocks you're using. I'm thinking of going 655 just for the noise factor, but my 350 is doing great.

Reservoir choice really comes down to aesthetics. There are a lot of choices, from not doing a res and just using a t-line, to a pump top/res combo like mine, to really cool looking res's with designs in them. It's really a personal preference. I chose a pump top/res combo because it increased stock performance of my pump.

I chose 7/16" tubing and 1/2" barbs for the tighter fit. Honestly, I didn't use any kind of clamping either lol, and had zero issues. That is, until I got my 680's. I zip tied each hose now

I use this exact kit to cool my 3570K/7850 along with a Swiftech MCW82.

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1..._Kit_w_RX360_Radiator_and_Free_Kill_Coil.html

Idle CPU temps are in the high 20C's and max out around 58-62C while gaming. IBT temps are 88-92C. On the GPU side my 7850 idle's at 24C and maxes at 38C at max overclock while gaming in BF3. My 670's are incoming so i should have new gpu temp data in the next few days.

Don't waste your money going all custom pieces and parts. Get the Rasa kit. Its worth every penny.

These GPU load temp numbers are getting me pretty exited Plus the manual fan at 70%+ is pretty noisy (required for a big overclock)

A custom kit is by no means a waste of money. If you're a fan of bay reservoirs, sure grab that kit. You don't have any room for expansion with the pump though, its built into the reservoir. I wasn't a fan, and built my own, and pricing wasn't far off considering I have 2 radiators, a GPU block, and my own tubing.

You could always just run two pumps if need be. I love the res/pump combo. Makes bleeding so simple.

And piecing a kit together gets expensive.

Raystorm - 60
360 rad - 60-100
Pump - 60

Were already way past the price of the rasa kit.

How do you have that Rasa kit if you said in Cases and Cooling thread that you cool your stuff with a single 120 rad?

If you care about noise at all, you will want more radiator for more low speed fans. In full push/pull config, I have 10 medium speed Yate Loon fans at 650-700 rpm, and the loudest thing in my case is my pump. To each his own, I guess

I'm running everything except the 360 rad from the rasa kit which i've been holding off on plumbing in as the single 120 rad is cooling everything just fine. I also have to state that my computer room is air conditioned to a chilly 20C

What fans you using for it? Loud and whiny? lol

One more question dude, are 360 + 240 rads overkill for 1 cpu + 2 gpu? I don't want to enter a situation where any 1 component raises temps beyond what 1 rad can handle. I'm undecided as to whether I should add the 2nd, it doesn't help I have to mod the 800D to fit the 2nd rad as well...talk me out of it lol

It's not overkill when you consider noise and your Delta T (difference between room ambient temp and water temp). That being said, you can cool what you have just fine on a single 360. I have the 240 too so that I can use lower speed fans, as well as get as low a delta t as possible. You can't really do that with 120 or 240, for your system. We'll see how a full cover block affects my temps once I get one for my DC II, because this VRAM hits 70-80C, VRM's 80-90C.
