Dude, you bought a used 670 Top from someone who probably knew it was broken, and the fact is the Top model was discontinued long ago due to clocks that were far too high.
I bet you won't find anyone else who's had problems with the 600 series, other than fan noise/problems on the reference models.

Only one person (me) has had to RMA an Nvidia card? Seems hard to believe. My 670 has worked fine since I got it, but I did RMA a 680 for a friend because they are clueless on how to go about such a thing. Card worked for a few hours and then just failed. The replacement is running great.
