GTX 750 showing 4 green squares?

I got a GTX 750, and on boot up, it was showing 4 small green squares in the middle left of the screen.
Is this supposed to be some diagnostic thing?

System was locked up, and I had to power cycle the PSU before it would respond again.

Anytime that you see artifacts on the screen it means that you have an issue. Did you forget to attach a power cable to it if applicable? Is your ps strong enough for the card?

No, it just did it that one time out of the many moons in service.
I wouldn't call it artifacts either, it seems like it has a meaning. I should have taken a pic of the screen.

If doesn't go away, then be concerned. If its just the one time, don't worry about it.

At a minimum I would clear the heatsink of dust bunnies and make sure that the cooling fan is turning properly.
