Not bad. Can't wait to see actual non reference PCB's, though. (SC ACX is reference)

Excellent performance for sure. Guessing sli on a pair of those in BF3 for 1080p would be severely overkill and at this point the last gpu upgrade BF3 would need for 1080p leaving just your cpu to provide the minimal, average and the max which won't touch the cap of 200fps.....

It's almost 50% faster than the 290x in quite mode (for this test) with less noise?

Maybe its time you dumped those 7950s and grab a 780ti and OC the heck out of it.. almost every post from yours seem to indicate you having a hard-on for this beast of a GPU, so go for it!

I"ve got to admit that's some real performance coming from Nvidia and their new GTX 780ti. Cool, Quiet, Nice OC'ing and considering the quality for what you get the price is in line with the competitor.

Exactly.

Cooler and quieter than what? It is cooler and quieter than both the 290X (by a mile) and the reference 780ti. Not sure what you're even talking about.

Put theses cards inside a real case and then measure the total
noise of the system as well as temp inside the case....

This noise debate is moot because the measurements are flawed
as they do not take account of the cards influence on the rest
of the system noise.

In a real PC Gforce cards cooling design choice to blow most of its
hot air inside the PC case will induce higher speed of the case s fans,
wich will completely negate the noise advantage of the card when tested
in isolation , that is , not in real conditions , so much for the reviewers
ability to think as real engineers would do.

lolwut? The Titan shroud does NOT exhaust all of the hot air inside the case. Maybe 1% of it. The majority of the air is rear exhausted without being loud in the process. I've used that reference shroud fairly extensively and what you're stating is basically not true, really reaching there.

What AMD or Nvidia GPU are you currently using in your PC by the way? Just curious.

What i said is accurate only for cards whose coolers
are not covered , for others wich are built such that
the exhaust take at least 80% of the pulsed hot air
this is of course different.

Currently i use mainly a C2D laptop with a GTM320,
a build will be unde rway soon but alas , with an APU...

Because nobody, absolutely nobody, employs case cooling fans anymore. Come on ABWX, credit where it is absolutely due man. Anyone can see it's deserving.

I don't think nvidia reference open design we see on titan/780ti/780/770 is any good. EVGA is open design too, but it is quieter and cooler, and comes with little to no premium at the same time.

Okay. Reasoning behind your opinion?

Thoses cooling fan will be more noisy if the cards
push the air inside the case , that s all my point,
wasnt it..?..

How will they be more noisy?

I didnt pay much attention to manufacturers designs
but looking closer i can tell that open coolers is not
a good idea at all.

I explained it in another thread.

Ok , dont use fans to extract air from the case and then use a 200W card that get 70% of its air blowed inside the case ; that is 140W , the case/air contact surface allow for something like 0.3°C/W thermal resistance ,
after a few time the ambiant inside the case will be 42°C above room ambiant temperature.

Now if you card exhaust 80% of its hot air temp inside
the case will be only 12°C above room temp.

All in all cards that blow air inside the case will yield
a noiser PC case cooling wise so the measurements
of cards in isolation is a worthless metric.

Open coolers will mandate more energic case cooling ,
by the definition , and whatever the brand.....

In principle air is not getting out of this part , it should be
pulled inside the card from this side .

Unless the shroud acts as a duct to direct airflow to the negative pressure (inside the drum) side of the cage fan, from the rear portion of the heatsink, air will be blown outward into the case.
