Why EVGA?

I personally never liked EVGA products, always overpriced in recent years and I've seen a lot, and I mean A LOT of negative reviews for their more recent products.

Because EVGA has, as I understand it, top-notch customer service and RMA... which is what the OP needs to be doing right now.

I have 3 EVGA cards, from 3 different generations. All have been top quality and never any hardware issues. My next card will be an EVGA... Not saying Gigabyte or MSI don't produce good cards, either, but they are not better than EVGA 'by far.' YMMV.

Yeah...upgrading from a 270X CF setup to a 970 doesn't make sense to me either. In any case, I use a GTX 980 Poseidon. Was considering EVGA but the price was right on this card when I got it. Most issues I've had with it are driver nuances, mainly updating on Win10. Windows Update has always failed with nVidia updates so far and I end up doing a clean package install anyway. Performance is really good (even running just on air). Certainly no DVI issues.

If a port doesn't work I'd be getting an RMA from either NewEgg or EVGA depending on how long ago you bought the card. Both have really good return policies, EVGA has a 3-year warranty on -KR cards. Make them work for you instead of ranting aimlessly.

I have also had some EVGA cards from different generations, and I did have hardware issues on some of them, and EVGA did eventually replace them.
If you aren't using the EVGA RMA service, then OP, I am unsure what you are expecting if it is a hardware defect.

As for the 970 being defective, I would say that it is neutered by design to basically have 2 memory banks, one 3.5GB, and one, slower access .5GB and that is reason enough for me to avoid it. I want a card that has the full 4GB VRAM and no speed penalties, and that doesn't play games with the VRAM.

Unbelievable... How am I a troll? I am having very real issues with my card and I made this post hoping someone could say something I don't know.

If you has issues with Nvidia card, you is troll. Simple logic.

If you get an image from your DVI port during bootup, but it disappears once windows loads, then it is a driver issue.
