So, if you don't plan to OC the card (i'm just tired of it) just buy a factory OC 970 like the Gigabyte or MSI and your gold?

I'm even more tempted by a R9 290/290X now since NCIX as good deals right now and the 970 are nowhere to be found...

Keep checking stores for the model you want... Newegg had the MSI Gaming (and several others) for a few hours last Wednesday. If you're willing to pay $100 extra for the convenience, ebay has several models available.

I am scared to do a BIOS change on a video card. It's the TDP within the BIOS that is holding the card back though. in other words it may show that I am below the TDP limit 106% on screen but the voltage and clocks will still drop because I have hit the hard limit in the BIOS.

Yeah i'm on "auto-notify" on Newegg.ca for the MSI, Gigabyte and EVGA ACX2.0 SSC models. As soon as one comes up it's click fest time!

I cleaned out the 980 supply at my local Micro Center. They received 4 and I bought all 4 about an hour after the store opened up on release day. I'm sure those looking for one were a bit upset about that.

That's correct, but the SKYN3T BIOS is the modded BIOS that removes the limitations.

It's really easy as there are plenty of guides out there that show you how. Since the SKN3T BIOS isn't released yet, you could try flashing your card with another GTX 970 BIOS that offers a higher power limit.

This card will see a BIOS update in the next couple of weeks that will turn the fans off at idle, only to turn them on at 65c. This will only be available to the ACX 2.0 cards.

I heard MSI say that you need to uninstall the drivers to run nvflash for 970's. Post #80 in this link:

This EVGA SSC ACX2.0 model is looking sweet and the fan noise don't really bother me plus there's a bios update coming.

From what I read the Gigabyte, MSI and EVGA are your best bets. Gigabyte has a freaking nice, quiet and effective fan, MSI and EVGA are top too.

Dunno about coil whine though...

my 980GTX's are still sealed in box.
Koolance is being very slow at releasing there waterblocks, and i cant just remove my existing cards without putting in new ones with waterblocks.

So yeah... i have 2 x 980GTX's staring at me going "neener neener" due to the lack of waterblocks.

But as soon as i have my blocks, i will install them and show u guys what they can do on a massively overpowered watercooling system.

Are any other 4-Way SLI GTX 970s or 980s users having problems with PhysX 9.14.0702? 3DMark (2013) and 3DMark11 crash Futuremark SystemInfo (scanning before running tests) and some games crash starting up. I've fixed the problems by reverting to PhysX 9.13.1220.

Not sure where I read it but I have read reports of others having similar issues.
