hey guys so I just finished building a new rig and im having issues getting my GTX 970 to work.. heres what I have in my PC
intel i7 4790k
ASUS Hero II z97
24bg of RAM ( to use ASUS's RAMdisk )
2 tb WD black HDD
240gb samsung SSD
corsair CX750
MSI GTX970 4G
so heres what happened.
I first hooked up the PSU with the CPU and mobo with onboard graphics to verify it would post, which it did. I then installed all components including the graphics card. after booting the TV i am using for a monitor showed "no display" while plugged into the GPU or the onboard HDMI slot. I removed the GPU and turned the PC on, it spooled up and shutdown before posting, as I was reaching for the power button it turned back on and displayed everything just fine. I installed windows and all the motherboard and GPU drivers on the discs and shut the PC down and reinstalled the GPU. again after turning the PC on it spooled up for a second, restarted then showed "no display" on either port.. I have since removed the GPU and everything seems to running fine. My question is do I have a dead GPU out of the box or is there a setting I am missing?
I should note that I am only using an HDMI cable to connect to the TV, I can get a VGA cable and try or DVI as well, also. I have an old GTX 470 I may test tomorrow to see if it works...
