Seems quite high in price for what it is IMHO. Esp with the 769MB versions for under $100 AR.

I can see people using this a high-end physx card.. or in a slim case HTPC gaming system! This card is not for the value seekers though

Galaxy wtf is that company. No trust in junk companies as their PCB is lower quality junk usually red or blue.
Quality PCB is green and is from ASUS or EVGA or Gigabyte,,, the rest of companies are joke imo like PNY and Galaxy and BFG Diamond XFX etc,,

Could you please just buy a GTX460? All your new discussions seem mostly to be about it, and most of your posts seem to be benchmarks with it, and it just seems stupid you don't have one.

Single slot version, maybe a little more valid to post about but it's getting old, sorry if coming over cranky, it's just... how many more posts on the 460?

It's a great card and honestly if it's power numbers were lower, and that it didn't have to be overclocked to match a *stock* 6850 then I would have got one myself.

Having said that single slot is good for some people, but considering it's already a pretty hot chip, will there not be questionable temperatures from that small of a cooling solution?

Galaxy is questionable to many, I wouldn't buy their cards. It's either Asus, EVGA, Gigabyte, MSI or XFX that are considered *the* brands I believe, at least in my opinion. If it was either of them brands and cheaper, it would be worth considering.

No, I have no reason to completely dismiss them. I just don't want issues I've had with cards that are not known for producing top quality pcbs.

I had a lot of trouble with my first GeForce 2Ti which was a completely unknown brand, and it wouldn't work right until I overclocked the memory.

So from that point I went for what I believed were good quality brands and not had any trouble since. (Except what my PSU caused!!! )

Galaxy to me is an unknown brand, I can't even buy their cards at any of the dealers I use here in the UK.

Have you got information that gives more credit to them as a brand? As a quality producer of cards?

At that price they should at least bin them so they could run at slightly above stock speeds at a lower voltage then they'd have something neat on their hands. Reminds me of a 8800gt I had.

Galaxy is a fine brand, I have had the 8800GT from then and it worked fine, it's just not as famous as the upper level brands...

Hey if you can find me a gtx460 1gb for 125$? Hook me up with a link.
Cheapest on newegg are $190 or so with out the crappy rebate.
Watch Hot deals or FS/FT, and I SPECIFICALLY SAID 768MB in my post. Way to take it out of context.

The XFX single slot HD 5770 is a good bit more expensive than your run-of-the-mill double slot HD 5770 (about $160). This one is even worse though in relation to a typical GTX 460 1GB.

Have you ever heard of KFA2 video cards? It's the high end Nvidia card, Galaxy makes em. I think they are more popular in Europe.

http://www.kfa2.com/

Galaxy has been making Nvidia cards since 1994, I can't see how you would not think they are a major player in video cards.

Glad they were okay for you, and maybe they're a good brand that isn't known, but I still would rather have more information on their build quality and things like that before I'd buy their parts.

Some lower brands either have rubbish PCBs, VRM designs, insufficient cooling, memory that is lower clocked than reference and things like that and it's not a risk I wish to take again.

I'm sure most people are like that, so they wouldn't consider the Galaxy just from previous issues, and maybe unfairly as it wasn't Galaxy that per se gave them the problems.

What a dirty lie.

Galaxy is one of Nvidia's top manufacturers with a solid warranty and good support. They make their own designs; they don't just slap a Galaxy sticker on the reference versions.
Galaxy has been around since 1994 and they have their own in-house production facilities and they have been making cards for Nvidia's Tier 1 partners for many years.

i have several of their cards including the Galaxy GTX 480-SOC which is a huge step over the reference version with solid capacitors, a 6+2 PWM digital power supply and Dual Bios; it uses Arctic-Cooling and it can match my GTX 580's OC.

Sorry, I missed the 768 in your post. This is a 1gb card.

What does a gtx 460 768mb have to do with a single slot thread?
Thread title "for all you single slot guys"
It does not say "for all you thread crappers".
Is there a gtx460 768 single slot card?

It doesn't matter how long a company has been making graphics card, it's not relevant to their build quality always.

I have found KFA2 on sites here, and looking at people's reviews it would seem they can hold it with the "big boys".

I saw them here while I was looking for a card, between 6850 and 460 and haven't seen them before that, what were they known as before then?
