7970's are still the same price on Newegg.com...we'll see what happens soon...
Probably a lot simpler PCB - only need 2x6-pin power connectors (so likely will only need 4 power phases), 256-bit needs less pins on the die than a 384-bit bus.
Just thinking out loud: NV made $581 Million in 2011 selling humongous 520mm^2 GTX570/580 with 320/384-bit buses and 332mm^2 GTX560/GTX560Ti cards with 256-bit buses.
Now they are going to sell a 294mm^2 chip on 256-bit for $500. :sneaky:
Should we invest in their stock or what?
Just got up. No Anandtech review. Glad i went to bed early

No bf3, no overclocking results, terrible. Hopefully the AT review is much better
i can understand the bf3 questions... but overclocking should be a separate review on it's own.
the majority of users are not going to overclock their cards at all.
They shouldn't buy this card then

Is this a joke? This is ATF , of course we're going to overclock.
Here you go, BF3 included:
Love more info. Thanks. Little more equal than first impressions from reviews posted thus far. Seems in really demanding games AMD holds it owns very well and even comes out on top in a few. Shouldnt sway anyone off a 7970 that's for sure.
Still F5'ing "GTX 680" at newegg though. Anyone else?
