That graph makes no sense.
HD7970 1.05ghz can be bought for
$400.
GTX780 costs $650.
GTX780 is 22% faster at that resolution in performance.
Based on TPU's own data, you pay 62.5% more for a 22% increase in performance on a stock 780 and 37% comparing GTX780 OC vs. a stock 7970Ghz
TPU failed hard at calculating basic mathematics and plotting it on a graph.
Computerbase has it
16-17% faster only for a $250 price increase. Ouch. You can head over there to check out their price/performance graphs and it's clear as ever that HD7970Ghz destroys the GTX780 in price/performance by miles.
Next time try to look at the graph and see if it makes any sense...

Keep it coming. Delicious fanboy tears, mmmmm
Its not the worlds fault you can`t afford the best GPUs from Nvidia. But don`t take it on other people on forums because you have to settle with the worse performing hardware
Many people here can afford $650-1000 GPUs but won't buy them out of principle because it sets a precedent that these prices are OK. If we accept, moving on GPUs will start selling at higher prices from both companies. You keep looking at it as NV vs. AMD but NV and AMD are loving this. You are making fun of people who talk about price/performance but that implies you like paying more for products that in the past have cost less. I guess NV knows its customer base very well, much like Apple.
HD7970 $549 vs. $450 GTX580 =
22% price increase for a 20-25% increase in performance in stock form and 50-60% in overclocked form (NV fans bitch and moan)
GTX780 $649 vs. $400 HD7970 1.05ghz = 62.5% price increase for a 20% increase in performance in stock form and 37% in overclocked form (NV fans do not scream and shout....)
This card looks good if someone is coming from the GTX580 or comparing it to the Titan. If I had Titans, I would sell them and get 3x 780s instead.
