So 770 is just a bios update?

If i had a Titan and all of a sudden saw the gtx780 come out like it did,i think i would be pretty pissed.
Having paid $650 for a gtx280 when it came out,i went to the store furious when that price dropped to $500 a week later and got $150 cash back luckily but i bet so many people didn't know about the price drop and i bet so many people didn't get reimbursed that $150 did they?
You "think" you would be,...vs I own a Titan and I am not pissed.
You like those odds?

There's the 'knowing you have the best' factor which should never be underestimated. The same drive that had me pay extra for the 2600k, and then filled me with rage when the 2700k was released. It would have been fine if it had been straight to the 3770k, but instead I was robbed of the 'best in generation' comfort. I will always have the 'second best' sandy bridge CPU.

Btw dont confuse cheap with broke. Two totally different things. I promise you there are many titan buyers that are worse off than the guy that spends $200 max for his video cards. When someone says they bought a titan I see irresponsible and probably broke. When a guy comes in asking about the best price/performance regardless of brand for $200 I think financially responsible and probably sitting on a fat bank account.
So i was half right about the pricing on these releases. This card sits right where the 670 sits on the price scale. The 780 was out of my predicted range. So the question I have to ask. Will there be a 775 to bridge the gap at 499-549?
gtx 775. They'll add another custom bios with just a hair more voltage and introduce it as the new card.
Then will come the 785. Again another bios mod with a more aggressive fan profile. The possibilities are endless.
Aren't voltage locked cards great?
I'm quite impressed by what GTX770 brings to the consumer. Not in a strictly technical way, it is afterall a GTX680 rebadged with some VRAM tweaks. What I am impressed with is the fact it has come in at the GTX670 original price level and gives a significant ~20% improvement in performance out of the box. It has also resulted in a further price reduction of GTX670 and GTX680 which has been a long time coming.
My fear was that given the ridiculous GTX780 and Titan pricing the GTX770 was going to come in at the original GTX680 price. Thankfully this hasn't happened but this presents the problem that Nvidia now have a very large price gap between GTX770 and GTX780. GTX770 to GTX780 has ~15-20% performance increase and a $250 or 63% price increase.
We are essentially being asked by Nvidia to pay a very, very hefty premium for only a minor increase in performance. Strangely most of the Nvidia fans seem to accept this as the new norm. Nvidia's marketing department should be congratulated for how easily they dupped their fans into accepting the new massive premium for the top end GPUs.
Wild guess here but i wonder if nvidia is gonna have these prices for their gtx870 and gtx880 cards as well as a new norm?
Maybe the days of $500 gtx880 and gtx980 cards at launch are over and the new entry price is about $650?
GTX785Ti+ Boost Edition plz
My bet is GTX 785 Ti Boost 2XXX Cores Limited Edition.

Well, I'm pretty happy with my GTX 780 SC. I'll say, Now Tomb Raider Runs @ > 60FPS on my max 1680x1050 resolution, with AA on, and TressFX!
Hitman, not so much, but then again, i can disable AA. Max Payne will hit it as well too! My Heaven Benchmark hits > 60 FPS. so does the Valley. Crysis 3 is the one to show off your system to huh?
One thing I noticed, is how quiet this is compared to my GTX 480! And less power draw? Score!
1680x1050? Why would you do this to yourself?
