How rude of you to post facts, when the ASSumption of several posters were the opposite

It's a sad day when price, perf/watt or other CONSUMER metrics gets tossed into the ENTHUSIAST realm...all because of brand bias....once AGAIN RS, I don't measure my games in perf/watt or price/perf...do you?!

So why the hell didn't you buy a GTX690????

Um, no. Even with clocks disadvantage, Titan still is faster card. I own both. Not once my titan lost to acx 780 clocked 80mhz higher on gpu and 150mhz on memory. snip

You dont think your SB 2500k had any effect in the outcome, perhaps more CPU would of levelled the results?

$380 Vapor-X 7970GE

vs.

$400 GTX770 2GB / $450 GTX770 4GB (after-market models are 5-10% faster than a stock 7970GE. Max OC, 7970GE and GTX770 are going to be within 5% of each other).

vs.

$650 GTX780 OC 95% of the performance of Titan OC.

If you want more value, get $270 HD7950 and overclock it to 1.1ghz, or wait for GTX760Ti. Then take the savings from not getting a $400-450 28nm card and upgrade in 2014 to 20nm.

By the way, thanks for that RS I've decided to choose between a 7850, 7950 or a 7970 if i can find a good deal on it, then I'll pay it forward to the 20 nms next year and resell this one

And, I do want to thank everyone for all the info provided. It was simply the very unfriendly nature of the "is the titan worth it" argument that was making these threads unbearable :/

That is what happens when I say I am satisfied...and other people try to tell me that I am not.

Really retarded, but if NVIDIA ever makes this GPU "trick" Again...I will buy it...just for the salty tears it provides ^^

It's actually spend the most, get the most. As opposed to spend less, get less, but it's performance you can be happy with.

If you look at raw fps 33 fps for $1k or 30 fps for $650 yes you spend more get more, but that's brain dead or filthy rich to waste money like that.

You actually can even spend $660 and get the 780 ACX and get the same as the $1k titan. In which case the ridiculous argument is even worse. Spend $350 more and get nothing.

Yeah? Does that ACX have 6GB of GDDR5? Look man, 780 is a GREAT card, but it's just not a Titan. Do you get me?

3 Gigs of GDDR5 for for $350. Well then, PS4 anything less than $800 will be a bargain!

Keep going "Erenhardt". What else does the Titan have that 780 Doesn't.

Don't make me drag each and every feature out of you with another post for each. You KNOW the right things to say, but you CANT let/make yourself say them.

Obvious.

no its not always. the 780 can easily match and sometimes beat the Titan when both are oced because the Titan can hit the tdp wall quicker. if the Titan could have higher tdp then it could pull away. unless running tri sli and playing with massive resolutions where the 3gb is a problem, its foolish to spend 350 bucks more.

If you're talking out of the box experience, or comparing the worst Titan sample against best 780, then maybe. Titan throttles pretty bad on stock bios. 780 just barely. However, with custom bios, as I showed before, 780 is having helluva hard time matching lower clocked Titan, let alone beating it. My Titan could bench @ 1202/3400 with 1.2v, it will probably take 1300/3500 780 to match Titan at those clocks.

I agree with your last sentiment though, 780 is so close, it's purely academic at this point. But 780 is not beating Titan. It's still #2.

You dont think your SB 2500k had any effect in the outcome, perhaps more CPU would of levelled the results?

Both card were benched in same system, if (and that's a big "if" @ 1440p) my CPU bottlenecks 780, it surely bottlenecks Titan too.

How's that 1/3 DP helping your gaming experience? Or did you finally admit you have no idea what you're talking about?

I'm sure you have the marketing slides and t-shirt somewhere. Sucks nvidia teased you and never gave you one for your faithful service.

Oh but I thought Nvidia had a hardware solution and they don't get microstutter

I don't care about multi GPU, due to AFR, microsutter and bad scaling.
But force me to choose multi GPU....I wouldn't touch AMD with a 6 foot pole.

Try reading my posts, chump.
I been toying with SDK's since 2006 (since I got my first PPU).
I have CUDA, PhysX and APEX SDK's installed right now.

I now have a Tesla class card...that also is the best single GPU for gaming.

You sound really mad at me for owning a Titan...to bad I dislike multi GPU...or I would buy more Titans...just to see you run in angry Little circles.

I guess a HPC Card that doubles as a master gamingcard is too much for you and your love for price/perf....but that is your problem.

Enjoy your bad mood

Interesting concept from nVidia with what they did with Titan though a compute and gaming card.

Cool, excellent work installing the tools. Maybe once you figure out how they all work you'll be able to use your Titan!

Interesting concept from nVidia with what they did with Titan though a compute and gaming card.

GTX580 was almost as good at FP64 compute, GCN is better than GK110 at any compute operation, Fermi also had full compute capability... Titan is not the first Nvidia card with compute tossed in

Looks like you finally googled what "double precision" means, job well done. This is after you googled and realized double precision has nothing to do with gaming performance, despite your insisting it for several posts, and so you continue to make up lies, pathetically so. The truth is you still come off as someone who has no idea what he's talking about and just threw a lot of money at a video card to try to be cool for a day. You would love for me or someone else to be jealous you spent money on a card, and each of your posts reeks of desperation in that regard.

In either case, how about you stop derailing this thread in your desperate attempts for validation and we start talking about the GTX 700 series.
