As a note to anyone seeing it, there are four after-movie scenes. Three of them are gags (first, third and fourth), and one is the usual story scene (second). The first one starts pretty much right after the end of the movie, and the last one is at the end of the scrolling credits.

...and I have to say, I didn't think I had a thing for women clad in gold until I saw this.

I won't disagree about the story. It seemed almost like an elongated TV plotline where you have angles that are just throwaway or barely necessary setup. I thought the last half hour was fine though.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure a guy and his young daughter (maybe 10-ish?) were sitting to my right. After seeing the movie, I wonder how many awkward questions he'll have to field tonight. "Dad, what did he mean by nether regions being engorged?"

Skel,

Sovereign:
Adam Warlock! or Magnus.
if adam, then the Sovereign scavenged the chamber from the Collector's destroyed hideout?

So, there are actually five end credit scenes. Yeah... there are so many that I forgot about one. The first, fourth and fifth are more or less throwaway gags. The second is something that may come back and the third is the more story-oriented one.

Apparently, Gunn stated that including Adam Warlock's Cocoon in the first movie was really meant as more of a fun reference and wasn't meant to be taken seriously. So, this should be Adam Warlock. That also makes sense given that comic Adam Warlock (also known as "Him") was based off Ayesha (also known as "Her"). So, the movie version will be a bit different where Ayesha created Adam.

Man, I hate to hear this. I love the first one so much.

Honestly, it wasn't bad. I understand why people didn't like it, but I think if you liked the dialog in the first one, you'll like the second one. It still has that same sort of raw, quippy dialog. Thing is.. the first movie has the exact same problem. The first movie worked because we were learning a lot about the characters and seeing them grow, but the background story was just kinda meh. It's pretty much the same thing in this movie, but this one focuses on a few characters in general.

Got to love some of the credits also:

No raccoons or tree creatures were harmed during the making of this film. The same cannot be said of the handlers of such raccoons or tree creatures.

Loved it, everything I wanted and more. Humor was better than the first, and I thought the pacing was better too. I don't know if people had too high of expectations or what, but it's exactly what I wanted.

Don't listen to em, it was great. Bunch of overly critical dweebs around here that seem to think everything needs to be at the caliber to win Best Picture.

Do you know what a logical fallacy is?
Cuz you just made one. Maybe a couple.

It's going to be way past the 160m opening weekend, now just have to wait and see if Sunday gives it enough juice to break 200m.

I tried to get into a showing Saturday at 1:15pm and it was sold out. Had to go back Sunday to a 11:15am showing, still pretty crowded.

I loved it.

Well since Guardians of the Galaxy is nothing like the original comics, and barely like the remake comics, the movies are actually fantastic in comparison. Loved this one as much as the first one. The Zune at the end was funny as I still have one

The Zune was great! And Teenage Groot.

I'm glad they kept the lighthearted feel from the first one. Not everything needs to be dark and broody.

Weak story
Boring characters
Phenomenal visuals

I'll forget it in a month.

Every time I read hypercritical comments about movies on here, I picture Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons.

It's critical, yeah, but I don't think there's any reasonable way to construe it as "hypercritical".

One doesn't know what hypercritical means then. IT is being overly critical/excessive just to be critical regardless of any perceived faults. Hypercritical comments are thrown out as one line critical comments without any substance at all. That is the very definition of it. Go look it up on Merriam.

Now if he said something like, "I felt the story was a bit weak because plot point X didn't resolve, or the dialog between characters Y and Z weren't synergistic....." Or anything like that is providing constructive criticism.

Saying I didn't like it because the plot felt a bit weak and forced. That's just plain criticism.

Just saying: Weak Story, Boring Characters....

That's hypercritical by definition.

"excessively and unreasonably critical, especially of small faults"
Nothing excessive there, and those are not small faults. Story and character are very important aspects of a movie, and calling them weak/boring is not excessive.

He gives no evidence. Why is the story weak? It's basically the same plot as in every other comic book movie (baddie trying to destroy world/universe). And the characters are the same as in the first movie (which most people liked). In fact there was even some development there (with Nebula/Gamora and Star Lord/Yondu).

I mean, it's not like he was posting a movie review, just his thoughts. Whatever ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thought it was a super fun movie. Watched it at 10 PM after carrying furniture half the day and it kept me interested and fully awake. Felt like hanging out with old friends.

Yep, and someone said his post was just typical hypercritical post. You asked how his post could be called hypercritical. I explained it for you. Then we all moved on with our lives so that those that enjoyed the movie are still enjoying the memories of it, and those that didn't can go back to crying of foreign films or other crap.
