While in Microcenter this evening I found the Anand's Guide to PC Gaming Hardware. Que Publishing.

It's a great review of the things we love to do! Make fast computers. And its on sale for $4.99. 9780789726261 ISBN 0-7897-2626-2

I think at that price we should all have a copy on our shelf!

How relevant is a book like this for an industry that introduces new products every quarter?

No kidding...who's gonna take a guess that it's already out of date.

The book is pretty well written. It actually covered very forward looking technology (considering the publish date). The book is a very good intro to hardware basics, although it doesn't quite cover newer technologies like PCIe, dual core CPUs, DDR2, etc.

I've heard casual talk about another book in the works
