Technicially it's not the first closed beta. Because in February there was a press release beta. That was where all the info is, but yeah I'm pretty sure if there was a beta it would be NDA. XD

Thats disappointing. But as for what I know pre-orders start in april 10. XD And that means you can enter all the beta weekends.

Yeah, it's not like you guys will have to wait a horribly long time to play the beta if pre-ordering. I think it's nice that they're doing that.

Cash shop leaks.

Some stuff is harmless, other it is ok and there is a few I dislike.

I dislike the mystic key (I've read in guru that during the beta they dropped from mobs, so not so bad I guess), the 12 slot bag, the perfect salvage kit and the resurrection orb, but depends if they are craftable/obtainable in game and if they are how easy/hard is it to get those.

Some people might have problems with the boosters (and the karma booster is a bit annoying) but I'll go with the rule "time=money".

Some more pics, not all related to cash shop.

So probably $5 for 400 gems for those of you using $ instead of € and probably like £4.5.

<- I like one can put orders and someone can go there and fulfil it while you are playing

<- apparently this mean the mystic chests are like wow lockboxes, so you can wait until a mystic key drops.

Well I think from the interview about micro transaction they said that you can trade gems, gold, and karma with each other. So people who don't want to spend real money can potentially buy gem items by trading in game gold for them and etc. So no ones really hurting. In a sense it all comes down to how much you think your time is worth?

Can't trade karma.

Nothing in the shop is that imbalanced at first glance, but I hope stuff like perfect salvage kits and mystic keys are in the game and not to hard to get (mystic keys are in game apparently, dunno about the perfect kit, there are lower quality kits).

The boosts seem to pale compare to boost obtained by using influence to purchase guild boosts.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Influence

+10% Magic Find for 3 Days - For 3 days, guild members have 10% better chance to find rare loot. Traveling Antique Shows are great!

+15% Karma from Events for 24 Hours - For 24 hours, your guild receives and additional 15% karma from all events.

etc.

I assume the dye box description is a bit off--I can't imagine those dyes being useable as many times as you want, right? I gather from the plant seed item that dye is harvested from plants...so if you pick up those boxes, and manage ot get all the colors through a collection of boxes, then you would never need to harvest dye ever again?

I mean--I like that, if true--it means I wouldn't have to create a character to store dyes, but I can't believe that is what is truly going on.

Hope the gems aren't too difficult/expensive to come by in-game, as of course many of those items will be essential on each character.

Maybe there will be dyes that can't be obtained through the dye boxes, either that or the dyes you craft will be unlimited as well which would be kinda lame.

I don't see anything on that list that really bothers me, I like the idea of the transmutation stone though, I remember how ridiculously expensive certain weapons were just because of the model (like the chaos axe and the like).

perfect req 10 +15% dmg unconditional crystalline sword my buddy had was worth on the order of 50 or 60 million gold, tied for the most expensive item in the game I'm fairly sure. D:

I'm with you on hoping that it doesn't happen again in GW2.

I don't think he's saying you're trolling on the basis of DX9. Because it has been announced to support DX10 but not built on it. I think GW2 is hoping that a lot of the GW players would transition over to GW2 without feeling a need to upgrade their current systems. I believe he says your trolling from the fact that you announced you have a key and isn't going to be playing the beta for this weekend. This is technically the last closed beta for the game. After this all the pre-purchase people will be able to join every beta which will have a major impact on things. From that point on people can't feel special about getting a key anymore.

It is an unlocking system - once unlocked use whenever.

It is a pallet on UI so no carrying dyes.

yeah, those unconditional +15% damage mods were very early in the game, and so very rare. stack that on top of the rarest in-game item, and you have something that is more or less un-sellable, hah.

I guess the panda minipet is the only thing to match the crystalline value?

But I don't mind the pricing and economy of things like that. it's only an issue for those that are really in to the aesthetics of weapon skins, which I only started to value late in the game. By then, I was able to go out farming for such things myself if I wanted to, and found satisfaction in doing so. All the better that when that gold item finally dropped, you could sell it for $$$

oh, interesting.

Just have to see what happens with the economy, I guess. Dyes were always a decent part of that in GW1, so it looks like they won't be here. :\
