Is there a finishing move you need to do to get a kill for PvP? How does that work? A friend told me about it but it sounds like it would be unfair to ranged fighters as opposed to melee.

When someone gets downed in pvp you can run up next to them and do the finishing move, but I'm pretty sure you can kill them with normal attacks too. They get a downed health bar when they go down and you just have to bring that to zero for them to die.

You can update from the beta 1 client.

I hope they enabled graphic card optimization but I have not found anything to suggest they did.

From the emails they've been sending out it sounds like their servers should handle the load better this time, I hope it's true because getting 1-2 second lag spikes was pretty annoying in the last beta event.

I only had a handful of them so far, over the two events.

well--mostly the "Stress test." That was worse, of course--the entire party being dumped, several times, just before taking down a boss. Then being placed back into the area, 1 event prior to the boss spawn, in the middle of massive mob spawns. Instant death :\

DL'ing right now, looks to be massive, at 40mb dl and still at 0%

Nah, it dl'd at least 4 GB. Updates to some existing files, I presume.

yeah, you are correct. it was 86k files for me, and at about 240mb, 2% last night before I went to sleep.

Looks like there are a few more options in graphics settings? Or maybe not, not sure what was there before.

I'd suggest people go to the beta forums and check out the Known Issues section for Beta Weekend 2. Game is still heavily CPU bound, they say, so tweaking your GPU may do nothing. Also issues with having cataylst override AA and other graphic functions.

Most important:

It is suggested that when in a group and traveling to a new zone, send one person ahead first, and wait a few seconds for the others to join. This should help keep parties together. If parties are separated into overflow or main Instance, then separated members can click on the portrait of the missing party member, and select "Join in" to find them in that instance. If main is full, players can only move into the overflow spaces. So, to keep parties together, main instance players will have to move themselves into overflow.

It started around 11 am on the first weekend, so it's always possible. Either they want to see a slower ramp-up of population and will do that, or actually want to test server capacity and how it handles the mad rush.

Goddamn it. This weekends my sisters graduation and my parents can never just let things happen. Gonna be doing stuff in regards to that on and of all weekend. They do this every weekend I want a Beta Event weekday.

My update was around 3.3Gb, it was fully updated this morning but then I had to go to work...I'm interested to see what they mean by this whole "visceral hitting" thing they've added. It kind of sounds like it just shakes the camera or something when you hit an enemy, that might be really annoying in a big fight where you're already struggling to see what's going on.
