ahaha... u guys are making me have flashbacks on the mesmer...
LOL...

Chaos storm was awesome.. i loved it..
What i didnt love was how the staff's missle couldnt go up cliffs!!! or had to ride up cliffs!

LOL...

As i said im a inclose fighter... but not a total glass cannon like the ranger and sin.
I like to start my combos off as a warrior with whirlwind... then weapon swap to rifle.. give them a rifle butt... charge... HoB, and if there still alive... use more sword skills, and if they run swap back to rifle after HoB and rapidfire the target to oblivion.

One of my favorate farming spots was the mines u get to at like lvl18.
I would just sit there... wait for the centurs to invade that mine, and just clear them out with AOE's like whirlwind and HoB at the stairs checkpoint.

Centaurs i think by far give the best loot...
Whats funnier is most of my crafting was supplemented by drops and salvaging more so then mining and foraging.

I'll probably go Weapons and Armor on my first avatar, as they share the same raw materials.

the mesmer bolt for staff not going up walls or cliffs was an oversight specifically mentioned by one of the mesmer devs...so expect that one to be fixed.

I got mine to level 94 or so tailoring through the first 2 beta events. I quite enjoyed crafting. I didn't really have to farm for mats, either--well, i used up the free gems for cash, bought mats from the market when I wanted to test out some stuff. But I'd say at least 70% of what I crafted was harvested on my own.

I cleaned out my drawer and went to the coinstar. Got $12.37 and turned it into a Amazon gift card. Used that to buy the deluxe edition so I can start on Saturday. I'm really excited.

something i;ve noticed in the last few MMOs I;ve played is lack of a class. Like no one wants to play a tank or a healer. Everyone just wants to be DPS. Someone needs to come out with a way to make all roles desirable.

I think PVP BS has a lot to do with it, imo. In PVP, people just want to kill other people. No one wants to be the healer sitting back and healing and not getting any kills. No one wants to be a tank who deals little damage and not getting any kills.

They either need to get rid of PVP altogether or make it so that all classes are viable in everything. Personally I would say get rid of PVP altogether because it adds nothing while causing tons of problems, imo

PvP does not add problems, it makes problems easier to find with classes. A game without PvP is a bad game. Its bad business, PvP is what makes a game last.

Pvp adds a whole host of problems, all retaining to balance. Against monsters, game designers have a lot of leeway in balancing because no one gets hurt if one class is more OP than another, in PvP, balance has to be very precise, while still making the skills fun. That is hard. In addition, cosntant balancing makes games not as fun, because the player feels as if developers are micromanaging them.

Also in PvP, there's a motive for the devs to keep shifting the balance so there's a new 'best' pick people chase for a while.

Micromanaging IS a mmo. If everything was static the whole time of the MMO it would be boring.

PvP is what keeps people playing a game. After a game is out a bit everyone knows how to level, best builds, etc and becomes, well boring. Especially true with a free to play mmo.

Developers know this, why most MMO are pvp endgame, not pve endgames.

From what I understood, two of the most successful MMOs, WOW and Everquest were PvE endgame focused.

WoW is mixed-mode end game. I wouldn't qualify EQ as being one of the most succesful without talking about UO and DAoC, both of which are entirely PvP focused in the end game.

WoW was originally thought of to be PvE focused, but when Blizzard realized that PvP is really a low-cost end game compared to having to implement new encounters, there was a shift.

My first stickied thread I'm so proud. I should have named it correctly though.

can u edit your first posts to include these general questions.

1. Shows us where we can get the game... ie.. the guildwars 2 web page, or other reputable sources... (no ebay, or private deal links.)
2. US servers, and EU servers which most of us will go on, so new views can look at first post and see where the majority of the people are at.
3. Early Start Date, and Official Launch date.

If this becomes a sticky, the first post should answer the basic of questions.

owner of sticky is responsible to try to keep the sticky up to date to hold value.

Untrue. Before WoW hit its "best" stride. It had PvP almost on an equal grounds of PvE endgame.

WoW is almost a 50/50 split between the 2 styles of gameplay endgame. Which gave it power in the MMO market as people who enjoyed either aspect of the MMO genre could partake in WoW.

I play PvP about 0.4% of my time with MMOs. I don't know any that are "PvP focused" endgame. Rather, I haven't played any that are, and would never care to.

Just because you don't does not mean developers don't cater to pvp. Which a huge portion of audience does.

actually.. only pvpers think there is a hugh pvp audience..

in reality, people only try pvp until they either understand the mechanics and have fun, or have masses playing with them which they find fun.

Otherwise people are more after rewards / items / loot which is all PvE related.

<---- both PvE and PVP orientated... so im speaking as a neutral party in this regards.

Yet WoW had loot/items/rewards for PvP. Even to the point of being equivalent to the level of reward that PvE gives.
