Guiness > Killian's Irish stout

Anchor and Sierra Nevada both make good porters that are easier to find than microbrews.

Guinness is more dry than Murphy's. Murphy's is a bit more sweet. Beamish has a slightly more roasted flavor than either of the other two. Overall they are all fairly dry and honestly rather boring compared to the more robust stout and porter interpretations that are out there.

Guinness isn't too bad, if you're just trying to drink something that won't get you buzzed. I've knocked back two pitchers of Guinness by myself before and wasn't even drunk (buzzed yes but not drunk).

Now if you wanna pick up a real stout, like the Storm King (from Victory brewing), then you will get knocked on your ass from a six pack. That's how you know it's the real deal.

killian's is just coors with red food coloring.

That's not really true, but it's still only Coors There is no food coloring used.

latest try was Killian's Irish stout.
I liked Killian's Red and hoped their stout was at least on par w/Guiness.

Killian's is mass produced swill formulated by cost accountants, TBH Guiness isn't very much better. Go with a local craft brew. Around here I like the Duck Rabbit Milk Stout. No doubt there are breweries near you if you live in the US.

Love Sierra Nevada. Haven't had their stouts or porters in years, but I usually get their seasonal brews when it's available. I haven't seen their Wheat brew available in a long time. One of my favs.

Well any international or local lager really. I find stout is too thick and has an aftertaste. Lager is refreshing and not that bitter.
