Yeah, Guinness really isn't all that.
Sacrilege!
killian's is just coors with red food coloring.
Guinness isn't too bad, if you're just trying to drink something that won't get you buzzed. I've knocked back two pitchers of Guinness by myself before and wasn't even drunk (buzzed yes but not drunk).
Now if you wanna pick up a real stout, like the Storm King (from Victory brewing), then you will get knocked on your ass from a six pack. That's how you know it's the real deal.
Guinness is what you drink when you're at a bar and the only other selections are Bud and Coors.
If I'm drinking something to get buzzed, I certainly would not be drinking a Stout. :hmm:
I've been noticing more bars like that with sierra nevada pale ale. SN is a much better pale ale than guinness is a stout.
Try the Storm King, I'll bet you can't finish a 6 pack solo.
I bet I could. Give me two 6 packs, and I'll finish them in a week.
still trying to find a stout/porter that tastes better than Guiness.
latest try was Killian's Irish stout.
I liked Killian's Red and hoped their stout was at least on par w/Guiness.
Nope
Sierra Nevada isn't too bad, my favorite of the IPA's is DogfishHead's 60-minute and 90-minute.
Stout is probably my least liked beer type. Much prefer lager, or a British-esque ale.
Heheh I should have said "in one sitting".
Anchor and Sierra Nevada both make good porters that are easier to find than microbrews.
Harp!
