I did not read the OP (sorry, not worth my time) and simply respond to the title, "Gun Control is not about guns. It's about control," because this is either an oxymoron or a sentence that ate the rule of law.

As a non us citizen my understanding was that the right to bare arms ensures that the populace can remove a tyrannous government by force. Doesn't that mean you should be allowed to own tanks, fighter jets, private armies etc? I don't see how you would fight a government which had these things if you did not have access to such modern weapon systems.

We ought to be, but we're not because the state has decided that it is eternal and no civilian uprising will be allowed to occur. 2A is already on its last legs, the statist gun-grabbers simply want to finish it off entirely.

The absurdity of modern politicians. We live in a country that was founded after its citizens rose up against their oppressive government, and fought for their freedom. Coincidentally, there's a law on the books that says that anyone found guilty of plotting against the US government is guilty of treason, and will be imprisoned.
