While I agree that the majority of legal gun holders will never go and kill some people, it is the miniscule amount that this country has to worry about. If this means making it harder to get guns to save even one life, I think its worth it. Besides, a person with good intentions shouldn't mind going through a little extra paperwork anyways. Some will object to this because they believe that it takes away from their personal freedom. If I drvie my car at 100 MPH, I get a ticket, not to damper my freedom, but for the good of the general public. The same could go for nuclear weapons, polluting, and almost any other dangerous activity.

I can kill you with toenail clippers and a paper cup. Guns are just tools. I will always continue to own them no matter what law is passed, because I can always shoot the first 150 people who try to take them away. more if i reload. Sure, school shootings are a tragedy(most of the time) but that in no way changes my right to firearms for self protection.

Take a hint- we don't agree with you, and never will. Logic, and the Constitution, are on our side.

Huh? You take a hint.:| There is no logic about a gun in the hands of a psychopath, enraged, mal-adjusted murderer and no constitutional provision to give him justification for his actions nor is the any solice in this event given to the victims or thier friends and family.

Logic? Yea right. You'll pry this gun from cold dead hands, right? Some would be glad to accomidate you.

You offer nothing in the way of logic or common sense gun control or use in your posts. This is a tragic event that you have taken the oppurtunity to stand on your soapbox and spout BS about logic and constitutional rights.

and yet somehow you have not changed a single persons opinion.

Oh yea?

Just shows how little you know.

Tonight,you are disgusting.:|

Geezz, you don't have to give me a list of excuses to own a gun....just tell it as it is, you like guns that's why you own it, telling me about 2nd amendment, to protect yourself from government and police...haha, that's really funny. I think probably 1% people own guns for those reasons and they are not in touch with reality.

If you just look around, read the news, watch evening news, you can see that guns are used in doing bad much more than in doing good. Now, may be many instances are not reported where gun saved lifes, but still the evidance right now indicates that guns are bad for the society.

Yes, there are many reasons in our society that caused all these violence and gun is only the tool that people use. But taking gun away is gonna save lifes.

If you say my dual celery, dual monitor and bunch of junk computer that I put all my time and money to build have 1% of chance killing my son, I will give it up in a heart beat. Just don't know why gun mean so much to you guys when it have such a big chance of doing bad things to your family!! I SAY CHANCE, I DIDN'T SAY IT WILL DEFINITELY HAPPEN TO YOU.

I dont understand the bleeding heart liberal point of view. Take away what little protection we have left, so they can feel safe cuz there are "no" guns anywhere. GO to the inner city if guns are banned and go thru the neighborhoods. I'm sure you will feel really safe, since guns wont be there. Yeah right, they will be everywhere, because most criminals dont register!!

Also, i dont think we should crusify the father of that boy just yet. Who is to say he did not steal the key, or break the lock?

He posts his tired little rants every few months, and every time the same people post the exact rebuttals. Take a hint- you're not having much effect.

You know what I find funny is that gun people always start talking about criminals and the "inner" city. But these mass killings are happening in suburban well off neighborhoods. These senseless killings are being committed by people who have never committed a crime.

Logic referring not to the psychopath, but the gun-snatchers such as yourself. Here's another hint: BANNING THINGS DOES NOT WORK. It has never worked, and never will work.

<< You offer nothing in the way of logic or common sense gun control or use in your posts. This is a tragic event that you have taken the oppurtunity to stand on your soapbox and spout BS about logic and constitutional rights. >>

I, and others, have posted our logical rebuttals many times before. You've seen them all. Why waste my breath repeating them?

As for tragic events, why do lefties like you and classy take advantage of tragic situations to use it to further YOUR political agenda?

Maybe if I put a cap in your ass to settle our differences you wouldn't mind, because owning guns and settling our differnces that way is truly american.

Go for it John Wayne wannabe. Tell us all how sorry you feel about the loss of life and the injuries incurred by defensless students whose only thought before being ambushed was the pimple on thier face or the boyfriend/girlfriend they hope to see between the next class.

Keep spiting out your garbage Bubba. The forum loves to be able to identify the intellectually challenged. You are doing a splendid job.

(Oh yes. I am armed and dangerous. Be glad you are 1500 miles away)

I saw one of this kids friends say the last straw was someone stealing two skateboards from his school locker. Lets hope he at least shot the thief. Sad about the other victims, but life is a bitch and always ends in death.

Congratulations on making unwarranted threats of violence against other members of the forums, a true sign of maturity.

EDIT: Congratulations again on editing your post, and avoiding a banning.

Ban the mofo's! I can't out run a bullet! However, a knife weilding 9th grader, I have half a chance.

Guns kill. And idiots who get ahold of guns, kill.

No one ever needs a gun. They are made for one thing and one thing only, and that's to kill.

Oh, the grocery stores are full of food, don't give me that hunting line.

This is the 21st century, we're not about to head the British off at the Border either.

Tobeme, yeah, I don't think many people are considering a ban on ALL guns, just handguns. If you do thoroughly read those polls though, something like 38% percent of the population do not think the 2nd amendment necessarily guarantees the right to private gun ownership. I would like you to post a link to a poll that shows where you got that 7% number, though. Did you just pull it out of your butt or what? Here is a link to what I consider a fairly objective article about guns. I love the one headline "Not a lot of drive-by punchings.." ROFL!! Here is the link....link
And if you take the time to read it, it isn't really a gun ownership bashing article....it clearly states that draconian gun laws probably would not lower our murder rate to that of some other countries like England........

wxman: Hunting is a sport. It's not like there are people going out hunting to get their weekly groceries. There is also the fact that guns can be used recreationally. Skeet shooting for example. There's also the famous "turkey shoot", which if you're not from the south you probably have no idea what it is (you pay an entry fee around thanksgiving and christmas. 10-15 people per round shoot a paper target and the best shot wins a frozen turkey. again recreation). Kids (and some adults) simply need to be better educated about guns. Instead they are shunned as some evil power and when a kid finds one they think of it as a toy, which it most certainly is not.

wxman.....glad you don't speak for the majority! I think you'll find as you grow older and wiser that guns can be owned and used safely......bungling idiots like this kids father ARE to blame.....at least partially since it seems the kid had a multitude of problems that went ignored by parents & school! As for hunting.....you don't really have a clue do you?

sigh.. the youth of America today.... i agree with you on this one point, we won't be fighting the British off at our border. but let me give you a hint... the Brits don't share a border with us.... there's this little thing called the Atlantic Ocean between us...

Are we talking about ALL guns or just hand guns? I'm a member of the NRA myself. I also love to hunt and fish. I do know here in Kentucky there is a two day or more waiting period for buying hand guns. This is to do a back ground check. Some people hate it, myself think it is only wise to do! I can wait a few days for a gun. First off Im FOR guns! I own over 10 guns total. Only one being a hand gun 9MM. The rest are shot guns, Muzzleloaders and high powered rifles for hunting. But I do beleive in having some sort of mandatory training class when buying a hand gun for the first time only! I also think every gun sold should come with a trigger lock. Also never have a gun at home loaded or atleast a bullet in the chamber! I havnt bought any hand guns in a long time so I'm not sure what all the new laws are here were I live today.

I will leave on this note and total agree with it "Guns do not kill people. People kill people."

Just my 2 cents...
