Gunowners - would you "give up" your guns under federal law?

Have you guys stooped to debating hypothetical situations that nobody other than Kucinich is even putting on the table?

Does anyone here have any idea how laws are introduced and passed?

I mean, even some of you who caught a quick glimpse of School House Rock in between eating paint chips or staring at shiny objects should know that this is not even being proposed anywhere except on far-left message boards.....so why even discuss it?

In a situation that has actually happened? (person misses one pool, the pool wins)

The worst part, you can't tell the difference between a P&N discussion and a Off Topic post.

I avoid purchasing any firearms that require even a background check to prevent a situation just like that, except for my CCW piece.


I suggest that gun owners who value their rights own at least a couple of firearms that were purchased private party. Historically speaking they will use the registration records as a method to follow up when performing seizures.

My buddy is a police officer and to my surprise he said he would give them up. He says the reason is that when they come for your guns its over. To fight means certain death to him and possibly his family.

IMO its damned if you do damned if you don't. You keep them at the risk of government henchmen taking them by force or be at the behest of an outlaw with a weapon. I guess at that point the government is as much the outlaw as the outlaw is himself. <shrug>
