I went because I was a GNR fan and I also was with a pretty hot chick But I am not a mettalica fan (I don't own ANY Metallica albums).

It looked as though Axel was put out that he was there at all and they sounded like crap. So Metallica sounded Better (although I am not really a fan of there music) then GNR, hell Ice-t was better (and he was bad).

The best live band I have ever seen was rush and I saw them 9 times. GNR was the worst.

other good live bands-

Crounting Crows
Dire Straights (AWESOME)
Black Crowes
Toad the Wet Sprocket
U2 was OK in the stadium better in the arena.

I still have my AFD and UYI I&II Cd's somewhere (they have got to be in one of these boxes around here) But I felt I got ripped Off at that concert and I didn't pay for the tickets:Q

I saw that same tour too, like 10 years ago at the old Kingdome. GNR is absolutely horrible and (sorry rh71) Metallica is not much better. Don't get me wrong, Metallica is pretty good live, they're all on time and in key, but the sound is flat. I used to be huge Metallica fan back in the 80s, but my appreciation for them died after seeing them live for the 3rd time. Flame if you must.

Best bands I've ever seen live are (in order) Rush, DMB, and 311.

hmmmmm, I love what GnR used to be, but I would hate to go to the tour only find imposters that suck live....as for live music, Incubus does well live, and I saw Fuel earlier this year, they were good too. I will always love a good live punk show tho.

I would go see them again, but their not coming to the Bay Area CA

I'm kinda confused if you're saying GNR was horrible during that concert/tour, or if they're horrible period. If that's the case, then yeah.. you're not going to think metallica is much better.

I like a bunch of their stuff...but they have gotta be washed up by now....
