I don't really see how you can take that poll seriously. Do you really think there are more AMD Radeon HD 4670,AMD Radeon HD 4350 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 or SiS Mirage 3 cards than r9 390?

Also, what happens if you have multiple computers? For example I believe that I answered the poll with my laptop (960m) however on my main desktop PC I have a 390. How should the poll treat me?

Source from Steampowered as to this is how they do it? That they combine the R9 300/R9 200 series...

Also are you saying Tonga and Hawaii are identical?

Steam collects the data based on GPU id. And yes, Tonga and Hawaii are the chips used across the R9 200 and 300 series.

Questions?

Can you link me to a Tonga GPU and a Hawaii GPU please?
Hint: Tonga and Hawaii are not remotely identical.... But I'd love a source saying they were if you'd like to make such a silly claim.

Source on steam collecting data based on "GPU ID". Where is steam identifying this GPU "ID" from? Sources? Any specifics?
Like what are the exact GPU IDs that allow Tonga and Hawaii GPUs to be grouped together?

Three steam accounts in my house, all created in 2003-2004. I've seen the hardware survey one time. Once!

It's cringeworthy to see how many times the Steam hardware survey is used to justify bad claims.

Why? 'Cause statistics.

Learn to read. Steam lists the "series". FYI, that includes the whole patch of different cards within the series.

So still no evidence showing how the R9 300 can be categorized by Steam as the R9 200 other than your own educated guess.
No source or anything...

Common theme in this thread.
"Steam says this"
"Where does it say that?"
"excuses...."

Either Steam doesn't detect it then (unlikely), or it's bundled together with 200 series. Take your pick. Either way, a sad state of affairs for AMD.

This post can be summed up with "I don't know and never did know".

You can calm down now tential. Don't get your panties into a twist over some unclear marketshare data. We all know who the king is in that regard.

Counted as 200 series, since they're using the identical chips (Tonga and Hawaii).
you do know that steam survey had the 3xx series and removed them to fix a glitch eh
its been months that they said they will "fix" it..you should have known that but meh obviously its easy to say "listed as 2xx"

Hey, at least you're willing to admit it's unclear and you don't know for sure and are willing to give what you BELIEVE to be the case.

I don't know either, and I ran into the same problems when I used to use Steampowered surveys to back my arguments, which is why I stopped.

However, if you are willing to backtrack some of your statements and be as unclear as possible and not answer any direct questions, you could be the king in that regard.

Yeah a game is hot garbage when the 980Ti loses to Fury X and the 390. Samething can be said to Witcher 3, GTA V, almost all games use UE Engine.

And Fiji chips? Where are they?

http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey?platform=pc

Looking into the results, you can actually find Fury cards.
If you look into "DirectX 10 Systems (Vista/Win7/Win8/Win10 with DX 10/11/12 GPU)" you can actually find "AMD Radeon R9 Fury 0.04%".
Seems kind of low, to me, but they're there.

BTW, the only 3 series I could find was the "AMD Radeon R7 360" with "0.13%" marketshare, so apparently according to some users here it was probably the most successful card in the 3XX line, which would obviously explain why Polaris is going for midrange/low-end and not high-end.

To put things into perspective.

DX12 with Windows 10.
0.04% Fury
0.67% GTX980TI

Vulkan
0.08% Fury
1.72% GTX980TI

Fury was a bad seller.
