I was just playing for an hour also on the small Multiplayer map at 1200p also.
7970Ghz Stock clocks.
Ultra
60 fps avg/high
50 fps low
Vsync is on with it off the high's hit 90 fps.
7970 is for sure going to become my favourite GPU of all time. Incredible staying power. While 9700Pro and 5870 were great for what they accomplished, neither had the staying power of the 7970. I mean honestly the 7970 @ 1150-1200mhz can still play a lot of modern games well at 1080P. I'd say it has even beaten the 8800GTX/Ultra for how long it has remained relevant for gaming at good settings. 4 years from its launch date, the 8800GTX while could still play some games, you had to drastically lower settings. In fairness, back then gaming graphics improved at a much more rapid pace.

Computerbase has their numbers too.
Multi player (Hoth, 40 players):
1080P
Fury X= 116
980Ti = 110
7950 = 51
760 = 50
1440P
Fury X ~ 89 fps (rounded)
980Ti = 76 fps
4K
Fury X = 48 fps
980Ti = 40 fps
Big drop in performance on a Fury X with a slower CPU:
4770K @ 2.5Ghz ~ 95 fps
4770K @ 3.5Ghz HT ~ 107 fps
4770K @ 4.4Ghz ~ 127 fps
vs.
4770K @ 3.5Ghz HT with a 980TI ~ 115 fps
whether this game has vulkan or not is gonna determine which OS I use. If dx12 is the only low level api, I'm gonna go with windows 10. If vulkan is there, I might stick with win 7.
You should jump to Windows 10 while it's still free as later it'll cost you $100. DX12 games will benefit from lower API overhead soon or later and W10 will get all the latest security updates and fixes and support. In fact, Windows 7 is a dog as far as performance goes. I like Windows 8.1 way more than Windows 7 in terms of speed/responsiveness. Windows 7 is really overrated. Other than the Start menu, it's worse than Windows 8.1.
