I love how people keep saying that it's a beta as if it were actually true. It's a limited early demo of a nearly finished product. Not much will change.
Techhog, the word Beta appears in the software and when you open the game so I'll take the publisher's word for it.

Even if the game is a demo, it still is a "beta", testing server stresses and stat progression on a larger scale, seeing if the matchmaking works fine around the world, etc.

Game does look gorgeous and runs beautifully. Never seen such beautiful looking rocks and snow (I wonder if they copied the rock method from vanishing of Ethan Carter). Too bad the gameplay is shallower then any COD game.

At reference stock speeds I get around ~85fps and not 76fps with everything maxed up and AA cranked up at 2560x1440 with cpu clocked @4.4GHz.

Overclocked though I'm looking at some impressive numbers @1530/8000

Avg: 101.227 - Min: 78 - Max: 137

At 3840x2160 I get o/ced

Avg: 52.794 - Min: 39 - Max: 79

Not impressed in general with the gfx detail and gameplay though. I'd take the lower framerate of W3 or ACU with their amazing gfx anyday of the week.

ShintaiDK, just got done playing some multiplayer. I love COD so for me it's fun. The graphics are great for a Beta product and it runs well on both of my rigs, as I expect it should.

I'll try FRAPs later to see if it will measure fps and then report.
Same I'm having fun and the game runs great and looks great. Blew my friends away. I can't wait to play new 4k at some point.

Not saying I'll get day 1 but I enjoyed it.

Performance is very smooth. Feels like hardcore mode BF due to how fast you die. Takes awhile to get use to but it's basically BF with Star Wars theme, which is fine with me, wasn't expecting some revolutionary thing.

Yup, I was expecting exactly this. I like the series performance in game and how the games look. It's my favorite series in terms of VQ to Performance ratio.

As much of a BF fan as I am, I doubt I'll pick this up... Not a Star Wars fan, and futuristic-type games don't appeal to me. Graphics look good, I'd say its on par with BF4. I didn't expect much to change though, basically BF4 with a Star Wars skin. Sounds like gameplay isn't fun though, at least what I've read about the game modes included in the BETA. Hopefully this improves with the full game. Might be a game I pick up when it goes on sale after release.

I miss the old days of BF1942 and it's many mods, including Desert Combat. Maybe I'm just getting old... :|

It really isn't anything like BF4. The gunplay is very different. I think it looks "cleaner" than BF4 or BF:H

That's a crazy strong result for the DX11 path. I didn't expect that at all TBH. Especially in multiplayer since AMD suffered poor performance on DX11 in BF4 MP. Looks like DICE has went full GCN optimized mode for Frostbite 3.

It could also be Frostbite 3.0 doesn't have extreme levels of tessellation and unoptimized blackbox GW source that slows down AMD videocards and cripples Kepler.

This game engine scales extremely well with faster hardware and with multiple GPUs:

1) Excellent CF/SLI performance scaling out of the box.

2560x1600

Nvidia
690 is 73% faster than 680, 2X faster than a 670
780 SLI has 87.5% scaling
970 SLI has 86% scaling
980 SLI has 84% scaling
980Ti SLI has 85% scaling

AMD
HD7990 has 94% scaling over 7970, and 70% over 280X
R9 295X2 has 87% scaling over 290X

As GPU load increases, SLI scaling keeps on improving.

2560x1600 150%
970 SLI has 95% scaling!
980 SLI has 96% scaling!
980Ti SLi has 97% scaling (and minimums go from 25 to 50 or 100%)

2) Great 1080P performance on even older cards

3) No Kepler crippling anywhere in sight vs. Maxwell.

Side-note, the Nano is outperforming GTX970 by 64% at 1440P. Funny how during the Nano bashing before it launched, certain ppl were spouting non-sense how we've had that level of performance for nearly one year with a 970 for half the price. :hmm:

Crazy how a 980 cost almost the same as an R9 295X2 for months in the US.

Ubisoft wishes it could design games that hit the sweet spot of graphics to performance like Star Wars Battlefront or Mad Max.

I am really extremely happy with how well this game runs. Amazing how well a game can run that doesn't have any proprietary libraries in it. Kepler cards are not gimped, AMD cards are not gimped, it just runs good.

Even my old 7950 sits at a solid 85fps (85Hz with vsync) on High settings and motion blur disabled. Which look pretty good, and the motion is just so fluid. Disabling motion blur actually gave a big boost in performance.

As for the game, wish there was 64 player games. 40 is decent, but giant BF4 maps with 64 players was a blast.

Kepler cards are not gimped in this game but their performance are not justifiable for their prices. We see a 280x on pair with a gtx780 and slaughtering a gtx770 :whiste:

???

I see 280X little bit faster than 770 and 780 faster than 280X.

There is absolutely no reason to be on 7.
Windows 10 is superior.

Hah. If you say so.

Anyway, on my 8350/7870 machine @1920x1080 I'm getting 70-90 fps with medium settings. Game looks really good. My biggest gripe is the MP needs dedicated servers and I hope its not so jittery/slow loading at retail. 30+ seconds to tally up my score is crazy.

Is there a native screenshot key?

Techhog is correct, it's really a demo. The only thing they'd probably change is weapon balance but not the gameplay.

Overall I think the game is fun. Then again I'm doing the correct comparison here: to Battlefront 2 and not to BF4. The vehicle aspect of the combat is overhauled to a significant amount. Air fighters aren't as powerful as they are in BF3 & BF4 where you could see some players sit at 85-3 or something, which is why you see a lot of Battlefield players whining on reddit - hence why you should compare the game to Battlefront 2.

Another aspect is that there are no vehicle spawns at a fixed location. This is what a lot of people are whining about but, again, I view this as positive. It means less campers at base and people are actually forced to play the objectives more and can't just sit in one spot all day whenever they aren't in a vehicle.

The thing I'd change is probably the unlimited nades. I also think Jedis should be more rare and have more direct involvement in the objective instead of being very common and just basically being killing machines with no special purpose role.

I'm still more excited about Rainbow Six at this stage, but Battlefront shapes up to be a fun game if you're more into infantry-based objective-focused gameplay and less into vehicle spawn camping/aircombat whoring.

Nice SLI / crossfire scaling there! I am impressed. Tbh I have not even played with graphics settings yet, just enjoying the game for the most part.

Played the beta last night for about 30 minutes. Game runs smooth on 1440p maxed out on a 970. Good looking game and all, but I'm not sure how long the gameplay will hold up. The pod mode was boring as hell, and the weapon selection/ variation will be key to keeping players interested in progression. I'll give it a shot but won't pay full price.
Also no server selection sucks...

How? With my overclock, I was only able to get around 45FPS at 1080p with 150% resolution scale (though with almost no tearing, surprisingly).

Something is wrong I'm playing at 1080p 150% on my r9 290 and I love it! I was going to see if I can go higher but then Ill just buy a second 290.

Edit: I don't even know how you would think that would be normal...
