Nader Blames Kerry for Ballot Access Fight
Nader pointed the finger at Kerry and Democratic Party Chairman Terry McAuliffe for being behind what his campaign says is a program of harassment, intimidation and phony lawsuits that are costing tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees.

"The ballot access has drained our time and our resources," Nader told a news conference. "I have to hold Sen. John Kerry and Terry McAuliffe directly responsible."

The Kerry campaign did not immediately return phone calls asking for a response.

Nader's campaign played a tape they said was testimony by the head of the Democratic Party in Maine who is heard saying that the Democratic National Committee is paying for her time and expenses related to trying to keep Nader off the ballot.

The Nader campaign said that kind of coordination appeared to be illegal and should be investigated by the Federal Elections Commission.

This guy is alot funnier than I give him credit for. Too bad the funny part is how big of joke HE is.

It's too bad he doesn't also hold the GOP accountable for not helping him enough when it comes to getting on the ballot.

Naders whole campaign is a waste of time and resources - Like I said before and I will say it again.. He is just an arrogant blowhard..If he really wanted to make some changes then he should actually run for a political seat he could get elected to... instead of WASTING VOTES!

How is it wasting votes? He gives voice to people who don't like either party. Does he stand a chance to win? No, not really. But does he offer a third party to people who don't want Bush of Kerry to lead? Yeah he does. Don't come in here screaming about him wasting votes, just because he's taking votes away from the side you want to win.

This country needs a viable option to the Dem. and Rep. parties. I fully support Nader in what he is trying to do, however, I believe there is too much at stake in this election and he should drop out (if that makes any sense, I know its being hypocritical).

That's short term thinking. There will be too much at stake in every future election if we let that kind of logic prevail. People need to start voting for third parties ASAP, to send the entrenched politicos that we're tired of the BS.

given how presidents are elected, i wouldn't say that nader is wasting votes, rather that the voters voting for him are wasting their votes. the house and senate are where 3rd parties have the best chance at winning anything since every vote counts for the election. unfortunately, with the winner-take-all electoral college, there isn't a snow ball's chance in hell that a 3rd party would win. as such, i don't really know why nader's running for president. if he really did cared about changing things from the inside, he'd run for congress or senate.

It should be obvious..

A vote for Nader is a wasted vote..

He cannot win the election so how does a vote for Nader help America? or even amount to anything more than a pat on the back?

Tell him to run for seat where he can win and then he can help others to get elected

Is it really? I doubt you would get away with saying that if you were face to face with a "lib". Of course I think you are too gutless, spinless, clueless and hapless to do so anyway.

my pet cat just made a $2000 contribution to the Nader campaign. i've already donated the maximum allowed to his campaign, and it would be illegal for me to contribute any more.

Thanks, HS- you pretty well summed up where Nader support originates, from the checking accounts of right republicans. Ralphie has become a beard for the Republicans, a dupe. Whatever his motivations, those of his right wing supporters and financiers is obvious- split the progressive vote, give GWB the election, again...

If Bush were the kind of leader that y'all represent him to be, such machinations would be unnecessary. Given the opportunity presented by the greatest political windfall since pearl harbor, 9/11, half-assed decent centrist administration by his team would make him unbeatable. He did represent himself as a centrist in 2000, remember?

Ofcourse, if kerry wasn't such an out of touch wishy-washy democrat from Mass, you on the left wouldn't have to continue whining about nader and trying to sue him off ballots.
