Same as he raised it horizontally. Just raise it higher then the vertical blocks but keep it horizontal. Then on either side do the standup thing, then lower the horizontal one onto them.

EDIT: n/m figured it out. My other question is how does he get the small rock under the huge pillar to begin with. Wouldn't you have to lift the pillar a bit?

I was also a bit confused when he mentioned the rock thing. They showed it up close, but a little too up close. It was explained too quickly... and it was a key part of how he did it.

I doubt that. The horizontal pillar would come crashing down onto the vertical ones. No way a person could slowly lower it down.

I think what he did was build the two vertical pillars, then raise a horizontal pillar between the two vertical pillars like (I = vertical | = horizontal)...

I | I

Then once the horizontal one was higher than the vertical ones put the small rock under the horizontal one and swivel it on top of the vertical ones like he did at the beginning of the video.

there are good reasons to believe that parts were cast

really?

yep, one of the teachers at my school (actually my advisor) studied the pyramids.

there are some unusual material structures, like silica micro/nanospheres, that simply aren't found naturally, in addition to some other material signatures. also, many of the pieces simply fit *too* well together to be carved.

it's a pretty interesting theory

That's one hell of a hobby he's got. It's a lot of damned work, without much payoff.

Can you imagine archeologists there in 1000 years going WTF?

Wow that's awesome.

It's actually very simple when you get down to it. Just have to actually think of these techniques and learn to balance these items the right way. It's like when using a dolly, you can easily move a 500 pound desk or a full file cabinet with nearly no effort.

I didn't know the stones in stonehenge were partly underground. That kind of makes it less impressive.

That's what I figured. I suppose he could've set the 2 supports around the one raised one and then just rock it and remove the plans one by one.

Definitely divide and conquer strategy. He learned he can move a block horizontally as well as vertically simply jack up a block, build a platform under it at that point and then use the 'two stone' method to get it over on top of the others.

remove the platform and you have a structure.

IMHO we don't need to think so deep about these kinds of things as we know the pulley, machinery, etc. Modern marvels have made our brains a bit mushy.
