He said it was filmed by English documenters.. It apparently shows empty cities that are facades, libraries containing only propaganda books, people eating bark, a culture based on hating America. He said there are few copies and the one in the school's library is worth $30,000 because it's rare (why aren't there copies?). Anyone seen this or heard of it?

North Korea is constantly suffering food shortages. Residents say they are no dogs, cats or rats to be found *anywhere* because they've all been eaten.

Bark is entirely conceivable, people are starving to death there all the time.

I don't about the other stuff but the empty cities is true they are mostly found a few miles away from the DMZ, but not close enought to see that the buildings are a combination of empty shells and gaint sized billboards. Saw pictures of them in an article of National Geographic magazine.

I saw something like you describe. I don't remember if the crew was English or not. They kept being taken to memorials and places that were completely empty. The streets in the capital looked abandoned. It was very strange.

My theory on NK is that its all a sham shown to outsiders to convince them to give the more money and more free food! Food that is then diverted to their leader and their troops. And Money that is diverted to their nuclear weapons program. This is just my theory. no proof

Yes, because it's our job to liberate every single repressed nation on the planet. We'd be at war with a good quarter of the globe, and spending as much as 25% of our GDP on weapons. To me, that's a terrible idea.

Underappreciated? You're not basing that on Iraq, are you? Last I heard, most of them are happier over there, what with them not being fed into giant shredding machines and whatnot. It's all the violent people that hate anything American that get on the news. But that's another rant for another time.

What pisses me off is why don't these young SKs understand this? They think reunification is possible with their "sunshine" policy, all lovely dubby, lets get together to be one big happy family again. Are they dumb? the only reason NK became nice was because SK leaders bribed them with something like 400 million dollars. Kim's just taking their money and laughing at them, he ain't gonna reunite, he's not gonna give up his power or even share it. Why share when you have absolute power? Kim's playing them for suckers and he's winning big.
