Viewsonic 17" with 16ms response

LG 17" with 16ms response

NEC 17" with 16ms response time

Sony 17" with 16ms response

Princeton 17" 16ms response with DVI input

Last but not least(although stretching the budget a bit

Acer 19" with 16ms response

~There you have it, each monitor got rave reviews from buyers, please help me decide, I trust you guys have better knowledge of selection than I. Personally I'm leaning for the NU cause its cheap and great reviews and the Princeton for the DVI and Mail In rebate(although ends the end of jan, hopefully they'll renew the rebate date).

I would get the NEC MultiSync LCD1760V or the Samsung SyncMaster 173T.

I would not get a 12ms LCD because of the 6-bit color replication.

I wouldn't buy 1 Monitor without actually seeing it in action 1st but if you must then go ahead and stretch your budget with the larger Acer...

Yeah, the larger Acer might be good, but since the resolution would be stuck at the native 1280 by 1024 then better off saving more money and go for the 17". Also, where does it say about 6bit color replication? what about the NU monitor? is it 8bit?

In sacrifice for lower response times they use 6-bit color replication. Which means less viewing angles and some washed out blending.
