I kissed my boyfriend before he left for his flight, on a week long trip. Before he left - I just hugged him, and quickly kissed him. It wasn't like it was in plain view of everyone at the airport, it was quick and discreet (I don't even think anyone saw it). Of course kissing in public is an issue for me, because I just don't do very much PDA, but I found it to be appropriate at the time.
that is sweet

Awww If anything, I was scared to do it, out of fear that someone would retaliate. Driving to the airport (2 hours away - ugh!) it was on my mind, but I didn't tell him. I was afraid that someone would be offended, or some religious wacko would see it and escalate it into something.

Some cheeba helped take the edge off the situation, though
it's too bad that you have to be afraid of public reaction like that.

I think everyone, regardless of which category you fall into, should keep public displays of affection to a minimum. There is nothing wrong with a quick hug and kiss or holding hands etc., but flat out going at it with the full gropes and tongue action should be for behind closed doors, or the proper venue.

I hug & put my arms around my girl in public all the time! I like it and I know she does. I've also kissed her in public a few times. And if anyone had had a problem with it and complained I'd have told them to kiss my ass. But when I say kiss I'm talking about a quick 1 second smooch, not tonsil hockey. Personally I think a kiss like that needs to be reserved for private. Plus I doubt she would've been comfortable with it.
As far as seeing others engaging in PDA.
Guy & girl: sweet
2 girls: meh...
2 guys:

That's what I was talking about........
Any sincere kiss or hug of companionship between mates is more than cool.

Are talking about boyfriend girlfriend ' quick' kisses before they leave?

or even for gay couples, just a quick kiss, something like that?

or are we taking about like full blown make out?

I think quick kiss. Everyone can pretty much agree that any couple who is copiously (sp?) making out in public is a nuesance - the thread seems more aimed at society's acceptance of gay people showing affection for each other.

I don't like kissing in public in general. I don't care if it's guy/guy, me/girlfriend or girl/guy.

The only type I support is girl/girl. And that's because I'm a perv.
