If that's your outlook on life, why don't you just kill yourself and get it over with?
Jackass, this is an outlook on marriage and having a great life has nothing to do with an outlook on marriage.
I'd rather just kill you thanks anyway.
Judging the institution of marriage based solely on examples of its failures is a fvcked up way of looking at the world. You might as well tell people not to drive cars; after all, car crashes are the leading cause of death if you're under 27  How can you judge marriage if you've never even been married before?

I'll second the plea not to get married. They all turn evil. I'm working on number three now. Guys, marriage sucks. But don't take my word for it, come talk to me after you've been married for 10 years or so, then you'll see. Talk to me when your best friend gets divorced, yes it will happen.
Marriage sucks but divorce is worse.
Take the example of Jimmy Kimmel (from The Man Show) he is actually paying more out to his ex wife than he is earning (he is earning millions)

That is absolute bull. Legally, this is not possible. There is a calculus used that varies form state to state, but alimony will NEVER exceed income.

Is it though? If you allow it to color your perceptions of everything, then it most certainly is; however, wantonly going about life without consideration of consequences can be just as bad, imo.

I've been with the same woman since 1990 and everything's ducky. This is why this thread is stupid; marriage is good/bad depending on the couple and the status of others' marriage is meaningless to your own. You get what you put into it.Originally posted by: jemcam

When I got married, maybe 75% of the guys came over in the office and said "don't do it, you will regret it". The other 25% come over queitly and say, don't listen to them, marriage is the best thing in the world.
Funny how the 75% are the ones that find excuses to stick around work longer.
Sorry, but I am with the 25%, marriage is wonderful.
I'll believe in aliens before I believe that a condition like that is ever in the double-digit percentage range.Originally posted by: z0mb13
I wonder if alimony ever worked in reverse, that is the wife paying the guy?
