I really only like music when they are too many people jabbering in the gym that it distracts me. Weights knocking around and people grunting is soothing enough, the people talking can get to me though. That being said I actually never bring my own music unless I'm doing some lazy cardio, then I just listen to a podcast or something.
I used to listen to The Final Countdown occasionally before when I sprinted in track. It got me hilariously pumped, what a silly song.
