<< The PhotoAlley version of this deal is not quite the same, because their price is $799.00, and since Amex will only match up to $250.00, the price comes down to $550, with $200 in other rebates, leaving a net price of ~$350.00.

Is this right? Can anyone confirm?
>>

you are correct. $349.99

Amex pricematch the total you paid (including S&H) or just the price? A lot of site overcharge the shipping fee to keep the price low, can i PM with them?

Just got my Blue card in the mail last night, and I'm anxious to jump on this deal.

My question though:

Is there any reason RitzCamera.com will not work with the MSN/AMEX Blue/MIR deal? They seem to be better in terms of both availability and shipping.

If Ritz is out of the question, would Cameraworld.com work, thus forgetting the MSN deal, but getting the camera for $745 shipped -100 MIR- 225 Blue PM (735 Cameraworld - 509 regency) for a total of $420?

What is the best current, comfirmed deal?

Thanks a million,
Ice

If you bought the 995 from Photoalley in time for the $100 gift card and are trying to figure out what to do with it, how about this:

The Epson 785EPX printer is for sale at Photoalley for $199. There is a $100 rebate when a digital camera is also bought during the qualifying period (see Photoalley rebates page). Throw in something cheap like a roll of film and get free shipping.

$199 - $100 gift check - $100 rebate= - $1

Iceblue, I did my price match with amex this morning and the rep told me where I was price matching to (regency camera) I had to laugh and she did too. They must be getting a ton of price matches from this deal for her to quess that.

I almost bought something from mpsuperstore and looked them up on resellerratings.com and they have a horrendous rating of 3. Many customers wrote to beware of this company and had some awful stories. This company will not ship stuff to you until they call you and harass you into buying expensive add on items. If you don't buy them then your order may vanish. Maybe they have changed their ways since microsoft is sponsoring the program but I didn't buy from there. I would rather pay a few bucks and get no hasstles.

That is an awesome find kewl. It's on order right now, says "Usually ships in 7 days"

It's actually not free shipping cause Photoalley counts the $100 gift check BEFORE they deteremine whether you get free shipping or not. So you won't make the $200 free shipping, but still an awesome deal! After tax and shipping it costs $114.92, then after Epson rebate, it'll be $14.92 for that awesome Epson photo printer.

PCWorld gives it a 4 star. It detects the card slot on the printer as a drive, so I don't have to buy the compact flash reader that I was eyeing.

This deal was incredible. I received my Nikon camera tonite and a free binocular.

The deal is dead and sorry to bring this thread back.

I thought those who bought the camera can help me. I am new to these digital cameras.

I received the camera from Photoalley but it seems to be missing the Lens Cap. Unless I am mistaken, the Lens Cap is a black plastic cover/cap that I put on to cover the lens when I am not using the camera and I take it off when I am taking pictures (like those old non-automatic 35mm cameras). I couldn't find one like that in my package. Anyone has one in their package?
And I am assuming the transparent/clear plastic cover that's already on the camera is not the Lens Cap they are talking about.
Anyone who have the camera knows what I am talking about?

I had my lens cap in a small plastic bag. The string that attaches it to the loop on the camera was in a separate bag. Look again . . . it is the smallest item that is packed with the camera. If none was there, I'd e-mail or call Nikon's Support line and get them to send you one. Not Photoalley's problem, since they just ship what the manufacturer sends them.

I don't think it is in the package but I will double check it again when I get home tonight.
Thanks Smoot.

I don't think this deal is dead.

Ritzcamera.com still has the 995 in stock and they are a participant of the msn passport deal.

so

799.99 at ritz free shipping over 200
- (100) MSN Passport
- (100) Mail in rebate
- (250) AMEX Pricematch with regencycamera.com
== 350.00

Then pricematch ritz with cameraworld.com (this is one of the vendors that they pricematch against and they also have free shipping)

799 to 749

then get another 50 bucks back.

Total is $300.

Good luck all.

I just looked at the MSN page and I don't see Photoalley as a perticipating merchant.

I finally did it. Had to wait for my Amex Blue to come in, but it finally did so I'm onboard too. Went through Ritz no problem. Now to finalize all the rebate stuff. But one helleva deal on a great camera.

WebDude

PS. I wonder how Ritz gets away without charging sales tax, since there are Ritz stores all over my state. Maybe they just roll the cost of the tax into the price. Dunno, but a lot of other online vendors insist on charging sales tax if they have a retail store in the state.

help:

does anybody know or have had experience of dealing with AMEX of PM Ritz with another store? Does AMEX take that stupid Ritz $100 Digital Advantage into consideration?

Or for that matter, does Ritz use that $100 when PM to cameraworld?
