I've played a ton of the PC beta (hit the level cap) and I've got to say it really caught me off guard as to how rad it is. I think actually playing the game is important to the equation here because if you're just watching videos, you may not notice all the small details Respawn has added to the game and just assume that it's simply future Call of Duty because it certainly does include many of the elements that they helped pioneer.
Simple example: Control point match types have always been limited to "Either I'm playing offense (trying to capture), or I'm playing defense (protecting the capture)." Sure you can change mid match, but it's one or the other. With the inclusion of Titans, now you can play both at the same time. Capture a point, call in your Titan, set him to guard mode, then go assault another control point while he's keeping an eye out. At any time you can tell him to forget guarding and come find you, which he'll do and kill anyone along the way he can. I've tried to explain some of that
within my latest video.
Movement is also refined quite a bit and scaling buildings from a first person perspective is fairly easy. Wall running increases speed of traversal, so you'll get places faster if you do all that jazz.
Any complaints about the 6v6 seem completely unfounded, basically from people who haven't played it. More people does not necessarily equal more fun. These maps are chaotic as hell and while the grunts don't add much danger, they're useful resources to get your Titan faster. Additionally, there's the potential for 12 player controlled units on each team at any time, so yeah, that's the potential of 24 player controlled things doing stuff on each board. If numbers are important, go with that one. Edit: There is at least one game mode that starts everyone off with a Titan (Last Titan Standing)
I'm loving what I've played so far with Titanfall and I'm eager to see what's coming in the full game with all the extra unlocks, equippables, burn cards, maps, and of course, story elements.
