Do you guys really find that much value in a single player campaign, in a FPS in which multiplayer is the focus? Did you with Battlefield or CoD?

I don't. PC gamers complain will find everything to complain about.

Maybe I'm weird but I've always enjoyed playing the single player of cod or bf. I think bf3 campaign is better than the bf4 one. Maybe its not the norm anymore. But it just feels like we're not getting more than the beta for the full price. It pretty much felt like that's the full game.

I always love playing campaigns myself. Without knowing HOW the campaign goes online with Titanfall, I can see complaints about not having a solo experience. If the story is well-done online, I can accept the $60 price tag, I suppose. But when Halo gives you a solid story with reasonable Legendary difficulty, plus good online and Spartan Ops, it's hard to say I want to spend the same amount for JUST the multiplayer aspect.

Plus, while CoD doesn't offer the same quality of storytelling, it gets more flak than it deserves. I like the Black Ops II campaign, just because of the great things they let you play with--all of the tech and whatnot.

I played every COD up until before Blops 2 and only played the SP in COD and COD2. None of the others. And, in BF4, I only played the SP because I could unlock the P90.

IMO, CoD4 had the best single player campaign of them all. I have played them all but only got halfway through BLOPS 2's campaign before totally losing interest and quitting. I havent bothered at all with Ghosts.

I also agree with the guy who said BF3's campaign was better than BF4's. I hated that I had to play through BF4's final mission 3 times to unlock those weapons, that was freaking lame.

Single player in these modern shooters are so annoying. The only one I enjoyed was COD4, and I really only remember the sniping mission. Otherwise I will only played single player/coop in a MP focused game if its to unlock a weapon, but I dont think I will do that anymore either.

It also depends on how much you play. If you have a lot of time and you will play this game every day then ok I can see the justification of $60 dollars for multiplayer only.

The reason I enjoyed it so much was that I could level up quickly, experienced some cool moments, and I didn't need to spend weeks on the game to gain levels. Plus it freshened the cod game style a bit.

But for me, due to work and stuff I will have time to get online on the pc maybe once or twice a week so if it's multiplayer only I won't have as much fun. I guess it's been something I've always been used to. It's just now and the past few years the focus has shifted to multiplayer lately.

Agreed, having a lot of time to play is a bit part of it, but that's the same for most purchases. I have put a LOT of time into Halo and CoD and Skyrim, but I don't think that matters that much to me. Even though I'll put 100+ hours into the multiplayer in Halo and CoD, I still care a lot about the campaigns.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that single player campaigns are pointless. I enjoy them a lot (depending on the game, of course.) And if Titanfall had one, I'm sure I'd play it the entire way through.

But I certainly wouldn't value it at 33% (or more) of the price tag, as I'm seeing some people here suggesting, in this type of game.

Where's the best place to pre order this game or is it too early to get the good deals yet?

I pre-ordered the game on both XB1 and PC. I have a buddy who is the store manager at the local gamestop who told me to try it on XB1 and if I really would rather have it for PC I can exchange it no problem. He will return it as defective. If I like the game on XB1 enough I can just keep it and get my $5 back for the PC version.

I'm just afraid the PC version won't be enough of a jump and suffer from the typical issues with a ported game. I'm not sure I like the 60fps lock either. I'm more of a purest when it comes to PC shooters in a way. Hopefully I'll know the details of what benefit if any it has on PC (besides mouse and keyboard control) before release and be able to make a choice at release.

6v6 is perfect. The game is fast paced and I encountered real players ALL the time in the beta, if you have any map awareness whatsoever you should know where to look after a few hours of gameplay. You can have a total of 12 titans on any given map at any time and people think that's not enough? Are you joking? Go play mech assault if you want full mech battles. I've played games in titanfall where the enemy team or my team would call in their titans all at the same time and just destroy the other team, I could NOT handle this game if there were even MORE titans on screen at once. They have to make the maps small enough for foot travel but large enough for the titans and I feel like they did a great job with the maps they gave us. Nothing will ever be perfect for everyone and there will always be whiners and complainers. I like the game and can't wait to play the full version. I only have one complaint, the party system was broken but the X1's party system has been broken since release.

I guess it's what you're used too. I don't really see a problem with more titans on the map, more titans fighting means they will die faster too.

Thing is, with dedicated servers like cod4 had, you had options. If you were in the mood for a tactical 5v5 search and destroy you could play that. If you wanted to play a 50 player team deathmatch on a ridiculously small map and die within a second 10 times in a row, you could do that too.

Anyway, I didn't really like the mech warfare so I'm skipping this. I might change my mind if it turns out there are many pilot-only modes too. But it seems unlikely considering the name of the game.

One thing I don't get is why the environments aren't destructible. So you are pretty much safe in a building if you are careful.

I like how you can destroy other titians by melee attacks with your titan and rip out the other player but you should also be able to punch a hole in a building.

Because it to is using a 10 year old game engine.

I'm with you on this. I just can't get into MP much at all. Rarely when I do it's not for long. No one plays how they should, seems it's just a bunch of lone wolfs out for a kill or troll and nothing else and heaven forbid anyone would actually join a squad in BF3/4 and actually follow commands or work as a team. I know some do but you don't just find it doing random matches often at all.

Thats why titanfall is different a little because of the bots and easier way to level up. Not sure if it was just the beta or if the full game will also be this easy but I got to level 14 in about 3 hours, playing like 1hr or so a day.

Of course when everyone is on it you will have ubber guys up to God knows what level, but part of the reason I got enjoyment from it was that it didn't take me long to get used to it. I'm decent in bf4 but I've only played it sparingly and I'm only level 17. I think part of that is because they had the 2x xp week, playing an hour or two when I get a chance lol.

I really like team driven games but saddly my friends only have consoles and not all of them are interested in the same games. You have the most fun when you play with decent people that stick together.

Big part of the game is wall-running and jumping on roofs. If you destroy all buildings that becomes a little hard.

That's understandable but even in bf4 buildings are not all completely destructible. Maybe it will have an add on or patch later with this stuff but it's doubtful.

I don't get why it needs to exist in the first place. Yeah, it's a REALLY cool effect to add and all, but I don't think that it's an essential thing. For example, I'd have rather seen Battlefield 4 dump destructible environments in favor of working on launch day. As long as Titanfall comes out, works well, and plays as it is expected, I'll be fine with it.

It doesn't need to exist it just seems logical in my head. I mean you are in a 100+ ton machine walking around and you have missiles and giant machine gun rounds but you can't break a corner of a wall down?

It's fun the way it is I just thought it would be more interesting.

I don't need single player at all to enjoy a game. I prefer not to have it. I NEVER play it. But some people do enjoy it I guess. Not sure how but they do.

If this game doesn't have a single player mode charging $60 seems unreasonable. A lot of work goes into teh story mode/telling that story. If they take that out, that's a TON of work they didn't have to do. It still feels like I'm paying for it though at $60. At the MOST they should charge $50, I'd like to see $40 though. Either way though, there will be a sale to get the game cheap wtihin a month of the game's release. I paid $25 for BF4 within 3 weeks of it's release (maybe $20). Most games drop in price extremely fast. Halo 4 was $20-30 within 3 weeks of it's release. Just monitor Slickdeals.net and you'll see a ballin deal for new games eventually.

It would hugely impact the balance of the game. A titan would be a much better place to be if you could destroy someones cover, because then they would only be able to get one shot off with their anti titan weapon before you could find and kill them. Heck even if you got locked from a far building you would just flatten it, why bother trying to find the guy when you can just blow the whole building up or blow through the walls. I just don't think its a feature that could be balanced well.
